This was a first visit for my husband and I to Cambria. We we were walking around town and stopped here for lunch. The restaurant is quite cute with different dining areas inside and out. We ate on the side porch with our table facing the outside patio. My husband had the clams, which he said was about the best clams he ever had. I had the grilled shrimp Caesar salad. It was delicious. Our server, Isabella, was attentive and when we had had a question, she went and asked the chef.

The restaurant was crowded, so we figured the food would be good. We were seated outside, with under-bench and overhead heat. The overhead radiant heat was uncomfortable. The entrees arrived. Mine was good. My wife's medium rare steak was overcooked. Our waitress was nowhere to be seen, so we asked the busboy to get her. A manager arrived, did not introduce himself, agreed the steak was medium-well done. He said he would get us another steak, and took the overcooked one back. Later the waitress came to say our replacement steak had been ordered. We waited..... and waited. The busboy came to clear the table. We told him the steak had still not arrived. He sent yet someone else. She checked and came back to say the replacement steak had never been put on the grill! My wife left hungry, so we went to another restaurant for dessert.

The service was very friendly and the food was good. The Chicken quesadilla was very good with lots of fresh grilled veggies and chicken. The prices are a little high but it is PCH and there are limited options.

We went up to Cambria to celebrate our 50th anniversary. I was looking for the best place in town for our special evening. Madeline's was #1 rated on TripAdvisor and I have never been disappointed in their picks yet. Madeline's was no exception. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. Atmosphere was great. What's not to love about this place. Great for a special occassion, or just a casual dinner.

everything tasted microwaved, $8.95 for the buffet, 3 bucks for coffee or tea. nothing was hot, just luke warm. would have given them a terrible review except for the woman waitress (maybe manager). she was doing her best to make sure everyone was satisfied.

As in previous reviews the wait is looong! We ate there once before for lunch a while back and weren't impressed. We went for dinner this time with friends so there was 7 of us. Food was delicious all around the table and view of the ocean was nice too. Brooke, we do have a lot of great customers, but we try to get them seated and served as fast as we can! We're glad to hear your group had a great dinner with great views. Hope to see you again soon!Sincerely,John, Owner

Favorite place to eat in Cambria. Yes it's pricey, and crowded (but a cool vibe and meet interesting and friendly people over a glass of wine while you wait) and they take cash only but there is a ATM available if you're caught off guard. I've never had a seafood dish I didn't like here. If you can't stand waiting a bit for a table this is not the place for you.

This was our second visit to Ragged Point in 3 days. We stopped here to have some snacks and to change/feed our baby. The first visit was pleasant - attentive waiter, and hot fries ... slightly overpriced but we felt it was worth it for the view. During our second visit, we did not have a sit down meal at the restaurant but my husband bought hot drinks from the cafe within the inn. That day, the public restrooms at Ragged Point were out of order. There was a queue of 5 people at the Restaurant waiting to use the restrooms there. We were at the end of the queue, with our baby and when it finally came to our turn - a rude waitress told us we were not able to use the facilities as we were not having a sit down meal. None of the people in front of us had been confronted! After being turned away, we went to check if the public restrooms were free - but to no avail. We even checked with the restaurant a further time, and the same waitress was abrupt, rude and showed no empathy to our situation. We had to change our baby in the cold outside! Stunning views but overpriced food and some incredibly rude, abrasive staff. If you want to succeed in hospitality, learn the basics and show some kindness. It is not ok to force a baby to be changed in the cold outside.

Its across the road from where we are staying and we are so glad we tried it. The grilled salmon salad and the filet minton were divine. Nice size portions as well, not humongous. A real find.

We were late getting into San Simeon after a long drive through Big Sur during the day, and arrived at the restaurant about 15 to 20 minutes before they were too close. We asked them if they would mind cooking us some food and they graciously told us to come in and they would feed us. The cooks staff and the waiters all stayed way past closing and we will forever be grateful for them taking care of us that late night. I had their clam chowder in a bread bowl and it was wonderful and delicious. If you are going to San Simeon stop by and have some great food at the manta ray restaurant.
