We should have taken the fact that both doors were locked as a sign that it has gotten progressively WORSE since the last time we stopped almost 2 years ago. When we were finally able to get someoneâs attention that was leaving to let us in, the hostess started to tell me that only the one door was locked. When we stood there pulling and knocking on the door for well over 5 minutes. So we were seated pretty promptly. Let me start with the Buffett....it is an ABSOLUTE embarrassment. The ham pot pie was complete mush, the rigatoni was complete mush with store bought frozen meatballs, the macaroni and cheese....again MUSH. Didnât even bother to try the rice because that was congealed mush. The mashed potatoes were tasteless. The gravy was horrendously lumpy tasteless muck. The stuffing was positively vile looking. The potato soup had whole potatoes just backed in half, half raw!!!! The roast beef was chewy, fatty tasteless and dry. That doesnât even begin to describe the beef with canned potatoes!!!! The roasted chicken was freezing cold and again TASTELESS!! The sauerkraut and pork.....very bitter. Ham cabbage and potatoes tasted like a watered down mess. This doesnât even begin to describe half of what was on that Buffett. I seriously should have take pictures of the slop!!!! How anyone can honestly write a review praising this hot mess is beyond me. When the new owners took over, I had high hopes that they were going to makes changes for the better....they have fallen into the same slop trap that the previous owners were in!!! When we were leaving the hostess asked how everything was. I said âyou donât really want me to be honest do you? It was horrible and weâll probably never return againâ. She said nothing....she lowered her eyes and according to my sister, then rolled them. Had I seen her roll them, I would have called her out on it because poor customer service on TOP of horrendous food is beyond unacceptable!!!
We stopped in for a quick beer well trying to figure out where to stay in Somerset. The menu looked interesting with typical bar food. The beer was cold and cheap. The service was fine. Smoking is allowed so the bar was smokey. I can't say I'd rush back to spend any time here but it wasn't exactly a bad place either.

I visited the White House Restaurant for dinner during a recent bicycle trip on the GAP, on the recommendation from the owner of the place I was staying for the night. The meal, and entire experience, was great. The service was very friendly. I had the fried chicken, which was excellent. It came with French onion soup, bread, baked potato, and salad - all for $14.99 (I think that's right). I was pretty full, but then the waitress brought a dessert tray with peach pie. That pie was also very good. I had about a half mile walk back to the guest house, which allowed me to burn off at least a few of the calories. Great meal at a good price. Highly recommended.

Yes, it is a chain. Meaning you (sort of) know what you're getting. But I must say, I ALWAYS get a good meal here. Always. And things are cooked properly. I have just never had a bad meal here. And the service is always outstanding. My only disappointment on my last visit was that the new menu does not include the battered green beans appetizer. They were so delicious!

My family left Pittsburgh in 1970, when I was a teenager. However, I do remember the Eat-n-Park restaurants that had curb service. I always liked the "Big Boy". Nowadays, there's no curb service, but the menu doesn't look very different. I had pancakes and bacon, and it was satisfying.

It is sometimes hard to find a table but that's because the wings and other food are great!! Their double rub and butter are my son's and my favorite. Brian's special reds are my boyfriends favorite. They have a lot of different flavors to chose from!!

This is a pizza restaurant and bakery. Probably the best pizza I've ever eaten, completely fresh and baked to order. Their cinnamon rolls with maple frosting are divine, and their burnt sugar cake -- a specialty of Somerset County -- is to die for. The be
dough girls is a locally owned shop in New Centerville, Pa. The Pizza is a bit pricey, but it is freshly made and tastes very good. Located in a remolded garage, this is a good stop for fresh home made pizza
