Visiting from out of state. Chicken tenders were plump, large, and very tasty. Fried chicken was cooked to perfection. Side orders included onion rings and mac and cheese. Owners/Employees were very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want some down-home cooking.

Got the three meat platter, sausage was awesome as was the brisket, brisket was a little fatty but I suppose that is where the flavor comes from. Chicken was just BBQ chicken but the sausage was did I already say AWESOME? No alcohol/beer here but the unsweet tea was very good. Friendly staff and good sides as well. Hashbrowns were to die for and the cole slaw was very good. If you order the three meat platter you better make sure you are very very hungry. I am going to go again tonight!

Chili's Grill & Bar

I love Chili's and only get to go to them when I am traveling since they have NONE in Seattle.Stopped here when in Corpus Christi. Typically I get the ribs since they are usually good. Took so long to get them, I figured okay taking extra time to cook... but when I got them they were lukewarm. Still tasty, but disappointed. My husband had the Chicken Sandwich which was very good. Fries were hot. Staff was friendly, they did give us free chips and salsa while we waited since our food took so long. Waitperson apologized delay in food when he arrived with chips and salsa we had not ordered said on the house. Which was truly great customer service. By the way, food is a bit limited in area, due to storm, all the fast food chain were open, but I wanted to sit down and enjoy myself. If I was in area I would return, just make sure to allow a little extra time.

WOW!! The BEST fried oysters I’ve ever had. Flavor is the word that best describes this place. Every bite had flavor...even the green beans! The wife had chicken fried steak & fries and of course that was great. I had the combo catfish & oysters. You know it’s good when it doesn’t require tatare sauce. Mashed potatoes & gravy were incredible. Amazing place

Texas A1 Steaks and Seafood

Reviewed By Bonnie G

We drove all the way from Lake Corpus Christi to Texas A-1 Steaks and Seafood to have dinner. We like to try Independent restaurants instead of chains and this one looked like it would be good. We arrived after 4pm so there were only a few diners in the restaurant. We were seated and waited on by a waitress who was brand new and we were her first customers. Though they were not busy, there was no one helping this young girl so I can't really blame her for the awkward service. We ordered drinks. It was happy hour so we asked what drinks were at Happy Hour prices. She left and came back with the information and my husband ordered a beer. She returned and told him that they did not have that brand, though she had just told us that they did. The truth was that only three beers were on draft. I had the $2 margarita. Large but obviously out of a machine with little alcohol. We ordered the stuffed, fried mushrooms to start. They were slow coming out - we had hardly any time to eat them before the entrees were served. The mushrooms are stuffed with seafood and were good, though beware - the order is huge and too much to eat if you are also going to have a regular meal. I ordered a salad with jumbo grilled shrimp, which were actually just medium sized. My husband ordered the fried shrimp and baked potato. The potato showed signs of being old ( dry, cracked skin) and the shrimp were over-cooked. We heard the couple at the next table complain of over-cooked steaks. I suspect they have kids working in the kitchen, as kids seemed to be running the whole place this afternoon. Our waitress did not ask us if we wanted another drink or dessert, just brought the check. The C&W music was blasting so loud overhead that we could not carry on a conversation, so we just left. We are visiting here for a few months and will not come back. This place really needs a manager to train and supervise the waitstaff and oversee the cooks.Bonnie G - Thank you for taking the time to leave a rating.
