Ordered the chicken/shrimp three times hoping for an improvement. Each time the chicken breast was dry and skin was stringy. Don't know how they cook it to make it so dry- but definitely needs improvement or replaced with something better.
It is in the back of a gift shop attached to a furniture store. Only serves lunch.
To be honest we didn't expect to find a lunch place and actually a really nice store behind those uncared windows. The exhibeted things have faded colors and give the impression to belong rather to a second hand store than to such a nice shop.We bought a few kids books, some really nice cards and had lunch there: raspberry tea, chai tea, egg salad sandwich and veggie burger. It was good. I just had to pick a few rotten lettuce leaves off my burger but otherwise it was all hand-made and fresh. Where do you actually find that in the Nirvana of Wisconsin?! I would like to stop at the shop next year again and I hope for nicer windows but as friendly staff as this year.

This October went off route to visit "authentic" Wisconsin cheese house. Spent more than planned. The fresh cut piece of cheddar, paid for sharp got mild, was great. Purchased prewrapped cheeses as gifts and for ourselves to travel better. Gross. Some gouda, some parmesan, all rock hard and foul taste. Had to throw away close to $70 of cheeses. And we are cheese lovers.

We were looking for a reasonably priced supper club and decided we'd give Country Inn a try. We're so glad we did. We both had the top sirloin with a baked potato. The steaks were cooked perfectly and very tender. The rolls were wonderful. The salad and soup bar were good. The wait staff were attentive, but didn't hover. If we come back to the area again, Country Inn will be one of our stops.

We had lunch here today. Split a breakfast, eggs, bacon and pancakes meal. When the meal came all was OK, except the pancakes as they were not done in the middle. No body checked back to see how our meal was, so I flagged our waitress down to tell her. She was very kind and reordered the pancakes. When they came they were the same, not done in the middle. When I paid our bill I was asked how our meal was, so I told her what had happened. Just said she was sorry, no suggestion to not charge for the pancakes which we did not eat. WHAT? Don't order pancakes here, better yet eat somewhere else!

Ate breakfast here twice and it was really good. A true family eatery favored by locals and travelers alike. A nice atmosphere and clean. Food was cooked perfectly and served quickly. Give them a try!

The food is good ~ nothing MIND BLOWING, but a great local spot for hearty breakfast and lunch. The Currier's Lakeview Lodge recommended it and we weren't disappointed. They accommodated our large group of 20 the best the could as it is a small spot ~ again, for locals ~ so our large group could have been overwhelming, but they were gracious and provided good service.Maxine was there both days we were, working the register, meeting guests, chatting with friends. She's run the join for 30+ years and she's 83 years old ~ she's super sharp and is lovely making us enjoy our experience more. The food is good ~ diner food ~ and we never passed up an opportunity for cheese curds! We went twice and would go again if back that way. Thanks Maxine for a lovely time!

As a regular patron of the Nook in Osseo, I left confused and disappointed. Service was fair. Pie was stale (whipped topping dried out on top and soggy crust). Obviously, I'll stick with Osseo. And Norske Nook name should be removed from this place or someone needs to bring this place up to par.We are sorry about the poor pie quality we provided you at the Rice Lake Norske Nook. If you wish to contact us at [email protected], or call us at (715) 234-1733 to talk about your experience, we are more than willing to listen.

Top notch Wisconsin Supper Club with a very well trained staff. Reuben was excellent and a 8.5 on a 19 point scale. Fun place and we went the night they had a live band that was superb.
