Reviews on American food in Redding, California, United States. There's a variety of water sports in Redding, from whitewater rafting on the Sacramento River to waterskiing, swimming, fishing and sailing on Shasta Lake, one of four magnificent manmade lakes in this northeastern California town. When you're ready to dry off, there are also plenty of land-based activities, like camping or hiking in the national forests and parks, following walking trails through the 220-acre arboretum or spending time exploring two fascinating parks: Shasta State Historic Park and Turtle Bay Exploration Park. At Shasta State, you'll find the ghost town of Shasta City from the Gold Rush days, complete with restored stagecoach, barn and courthouse, with eerie reminders of where prisoners were kept and sometimes hanged. The ever-expanding 300-acre Turtle Bay Park houses the recently opened Turtle Bay Museum, with extraordinary hands-on exhibits focusing on the environment and an outstanding collection of American Indian baskets. The kids will love the park's Paul Bunyan's Forest Camp, which includes a playground, logging and ecology exhibits and the popular summer butterfly house, where the fragile winged creatures flit about and alight on welcoming visitors.

We were staying at the Sheraton Sundial Bridge and this restaurant is right next door. Very convenient. Our server was awesome! The food was very good, and fresh. Beautiful atmosphere, lovely decor.

I eat meat, but my wife is vegan, and this accounts for the fact that we had very different experiences at Moonstone Bistro. I enjoyed my chicken Pomodoro entree very much, but my wife had to settle for a salad that was OK, but nothing special. There was a more attractive salad on the lunch menu, but the server told us that no exceptions would be made for that salad to be offered as a dinner item. The listing here on TripAdvisor states that the restaurant is vegetarian-friendly and has vegan options, but vegans should check out the menu in advance. There isn't much available that will meet a vegan's dietary needs.

We stopped at Clearie's on our way through Redding to Lassen Volcanic National Park. The lunch menu offers a simple variety of sandwiches and salads. I opted for the crispy calamari and shrimp louis which had an unnecessarily spicy dressing. Our waiter was not terribly interested in waiting on us as he had a large birthday party that he was also serving. So we spent a good amount of time waiting to order, waiting on water refills, waiting to pay, etc.

C.R Gibbs is located in the heart of Redding and is an open exhibition kitchen with a full bar, banquet facilities and American Grille Style Cuisine.
Our large tour group had made arrangements for lunch at CR Gibbs. We had our food pre-ordered and dined in the private dining room. We had our food quickly and my salad was a very generous size and so delicious. Appreciated the friendly service and inviting decor.

We ordered numerous options from the eggs Benedict to the Big Bear meal. Everyone was satisfied. Fresh fruit, big biscuits, yummy pancakes. They sang Happy Birthday and had our mom surprised and in happy tears. Highly recommended!

Travelers know Redding as a pass-through on the way to somewhere but locals know of the natural wonder and slower pace that define their city. Nestled near the northern tip of the Sacramento Valley, Redding offers a spectacular view and a short trip to La
This is one of the best Black Bear Diners I've ever been to. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Our server Chuck was awesome. Another server, Mark, was great too. It seems like they have excellent teamwork among the staff there and everyone helped to make sure their customers were happy. Our food was very good and it did not take forever to come out which was nice because we were starving! I will definitely come here again.

A classic Redding restaurant. Good steaks. Long lines. Poor atmosphere. It's a place that you should experience at least once.

Having visited Cattleman's twice when we were in Redding a year ago, since deciding to return in 2019 we have been looking forward to visiting Cattleman's on this visit. So, how was it? Well, I have to confess better than ever!My wife repeat-ordered the Steak and Shrimp Scampi, whilst I went for the Rustler Rib Eye on this occasion - delightful all round! The steak was sweet to the palate, cut like salmon, and tasted of the stuff of dreams!!I know of no other place which has steak like this place!

Waited on a Saturday for about 50 minutes. They do have a coffee area to sit in while you wait. Waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful with the menu. Food was average but this is clearly Redding's hot spot on a weekend. If you decide to go, keep the wait time in mind and plan accordingly.

Stopped in there for the first time and was quite impressed. Had a very good beer selection. Tried 2 different types and enjoyed them both. Had the large pretzel with beer cheese and it tasted great. When I'm in the area again and will definitely stop in again!
