Very neat, clean, well appointed restaurant. A pleasant surprise in Red Bluff! Service was outstanding, friendly, informed, professional. Only opened a few months ago located next to Oak Ridge Golf Course. Mid range pricing, but worth the price as the food was excellent. Had both the halibut and ribeye, each perfectly done. Need to have a few small signs along the lane to the restaurant to assure customers their GPS has not failed. After leaving I-5 and making a turn onto the restaurant's street about 200 yards from the freeway, it appeared isolated and we questioned whether we had made a correct turn. Only a minute later we saw the lights and arrived. If you are tired of "highway food" and want a better meal literally a couple of minutes from any of the local hotels, you will not be disappointed. If traveling down I-5 you miss all the town traffic, exit I-5 and you are less than 3 minutes from the restaurant. Northbound on I-5 take Exit 647, then left on S. Main, then left on Montgomery a couple of hundred yards away. If Southbound, take I-5 Exit 647A, turn left on S. Main, and in a couple of hundred yards left again on Montgomery.

The M and M Ranch House is located just next door in the shopping center next to the Valero Gas station on the east side of town headed out to Lassen Park on the 36. M&M specializes in burgers and steaks and has a voted best salad bar option. Prices are moderate and a little higher for the big steaks. This isnât a place for a cheap fast burger, go to the Frosty stand towards town for that. Burgers here will be nice big ½ lb. meaty burgers in the $11 - $13 range with options like topped with grilled pastrami or jalapeno bacon. Thereâs even a burger made with a combo of ground beef and pork! Iâm in the mood to get me some meat, so forget the salad bar! I was interested in trying this pork and beef combo burger called PHAT Burger, including cheese, bacon and a fried egg! ($12.99) My friend got the fish and chips. I said strange choice in a steak and burger place. The food arrives and my PHAT burger looks awesome and big for sure. The fish and chips were, well, fish and chips. Nothing to get too excited over, but my burger sure was. Iâd never had ground meat combined with beef and pork together and then all the cheeses and bacon made it even better. That was some big piece of meat in this burger, I could barely open wide enough to slip that thing in my mouth! The egg was cooked medium done so didnât totally all run down my chin. My friend looked envious at my juicy burger compared to his fish and chips so I let him have a big bite. OK, Iâm getting that next time he proclaims! The whole experience was fun and nice in a small town country sort of way and Iâd recommend this place to any traveler passing through Red Bluff on the 5, get off on 36 EAST and go a couple of miles from the freeway and itâs on the right near the Valero gas station â¦. Get gas while youâre here too!

Found this via Tripadvisor and we weren't disappointed. We had ribs, sandwiches and salmon along with sides of vegetables, salad and coleslaw and the flavours were lovel and the food was fresh. The lady who served us was friendly and efficient and made the whole experience nicer. The wooden décor adds to the ambience of being away from the big city.

Great sandwhiches and good ingredients. The only bad part is if it's busy, like more than 4 ahead of you, then it's going to take along time. Small shop with a few workers that's always clean. Always seems like when I'm craving it they are closed as they have earlier hours than the subways.

Get You Day Rockin at the Rockin R! Great Homestyle Cooking. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner all Day. Feeding that hunger one bite at a time!
After a long drive, a tip from the nearby Comfort Inn reception person sent us to the Rockin' R Restaurant. I noticed their facility as I drove by it on the way to.the hotel, and it seemed like the lonely little petunia in the onion patch (Surrounded by franchisees). It was indeed a pleasant surprise.First, the ambiance: A clean and simple restaurant - serving families and travelers; and obviously locals who were enjoying good food and fellowship. The staff were attentive, and dealt well with my normal first question: "Do you offer Gluten-Free food?" Our waitress clearly did not know what gluten consisted of, but another waitress overheard and immediately came to the rescue. Both were gracious and my gluten intolerant associate was provided with tasty choices. The food was indeed like my grandma used to make - delicious and quite filling. This restaurant is, in my opinion, a business that caters to all manners of people and provides great food and great service in a casual environment reminiscent of one's home.

Made a trip through Red Bluff the other day and we were Jonesinâ for burgers. A couple of people recommended Sugar Shack, so we Googled them and found them on Main St., about ½ mile from I5. The inside has a very comfortable, country/kitschy/diner feel to it and the owner greeted us like family. We both wanted burgers and settled on bacon burgers with caramelized onions, one with Swiss cheese, the other with bleu. One of us had onion rings, the other French fries. The burgers were magnificent. Not only was the patty completely covered by thick-cut bacon, so was the top bun! Completely coveredâ¦you couldnât see what was underneath! Who does that? Sugar Shack does that! The fries and onion rings were both delicious and perfectly cooked; nice and crispy, not soggy. The caramelized onions were the perfect addition and there was plenty of cheese, too. We had a little ranch dressing for the fries and onion rings and it was house-made. There was a little extra tang in it, maybe garlic, that made you come back for more.We both had iced tea, and it was the only weak part of the meal; it just wasnât strong enough. Burgers were $9.99, a very fair price for a burger of this quality. We only ate half and Iâm looking forward to leftover burger. (They had a cheeseburger and fries special for only $5.99, no substitutions.) We'll be back!

What a delightful evening at Whiskey Kitchen! This place is certainly worth 5 stars âï¸ The menu has some familiarity, but does keep a nod to the good old days. Think Red Bluff, California in the 70âs!! The new menu is really great, but not fussy. Really creative ideas such as artichoke dip and new fresh spices on the meats were perfect. We had quite a large group, but the delightful waitress handled it smoothly. Looking forward to our next visit! Congratulations to all your staff â¤ï¸Thank you for letting us know how we did! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
