Overlooking the historic Independence Square, Ophelia's offers an infusion of cultural flavors in an eclectic American menu. The steaks, seafood, duck, and lamb are a few of our guest's favorite items. Layers of flavors contribute to all of the dishes we

I have been to this restaurant on a couple occasions. Previously, I have had no complaints except I have always found the servers to be trending toward a slightly rude attitude (no different this time). Our party of four went to a late dinner. We were seated quickly, but the place felt a little âstickyâ and in need of a good cleaning. It was so smoky (not visibly) that at least 3 of us complained later that our clothes smelled of smoke. Before you tell me that this is a barbecue joint, rest assured that I have been to plenty of places like this and rarely, if ever, have I ever had to wash my shirt to get the smoke smell out of it. Drinks are well-made, but the food was just not there. Two of us ordered pork spareribs only to have the waitress return to our table and tell us they were out. I really canât believe that a barbecue joint would run out of ribs. Are you kidding? I had lamb ribs for something different and they were pretty tasty, though the overall experience of the sauciness of all the food was a little over the top. Burnt ends tended to be overly fatty. As you can surmise, I was underwhelmed and a little disappointed. This restaurant will remain on peopleâs lists of barbecue places to go when in Kansas City. For me, I think this may have been my last time.Hello! Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback - It helps make our team better. I took a group from work who were traveling together to Summit Grill. The food and service were excellent - had a hard time picking what to eat. The noise level was good for talking with a group. Atmosphere casual and professional.

We were traveling with our senior citizens group to tour three museums, and stopped there for lunch. Lunch price was $10.99 for a buffet, the food was delicious and hot. I tried the fried chicken, greens, yams, macaroni, corn, and salad. A drink was also included. I would return if I were in Kansas City.

This place is so unique! There is nothing like it in the Kansas City area. And unless you Google "best restaurants in Independence, MO" you would never know it existed. This is a family run business...brother and sister...and they do it right. The atmosphere is cozy, warm and inviting. The food is fantastic every time I have been here. My faves are still the crab cakes and their New England Clam Chowder. This week they had Fettucine Alfredo as one of the lunch specials, and it was truly one of the best Fettucine Alfredo's I have ever tasted. I ordered mine with grilled chicken; my friend ordered hers with salmon. Both were delicious. And save room for dessert because it is worth the calories. Lemon marscapone cake is yummy. Take time to walk off some of the calories you ingested by walking through the huge antique/gift shop that is several stories tall above the restaurant. And in the summer take a stroll through the immaculately planted and decorated gardens out back. If it is nice out, eat outside and enjoy the beauty of the gardens. It's lovely! This place is perfect in every way! It is a dining experience that you are sure to enjoy!

I stopped in for an afternoon snack. Both my ham & cheese and roast bead sliders were cold at 2:30pm. The service was extremely SLOW. If they ever had more than 3 customers at once I don't think the could handle the crowd. Next time I'll keep driving.

Has a good menu of "home cooked" type foods. Prices are reasonable. Our service was slow. He kept forgetting to bring things we asked for. Didn't get our drinks filled. It is a small place with limited seating (I think there were, maybe, 10 tables/booths). I didn't see any thing for a large group (more than 4). Maybe there was another room somewhere. The booth seats sat low and were hard to get in and out of and not very comfortable.I had a cheeseburger. I read the menu a few times and it said NOTHING about having mayo on it (I'm allergic to mayo}. There was a ton of it on there. I just ate the burger. HOMECUT fries were AWESOME!!!!!Thank you for your review. I understand your situation, and apologize for the discrepancy. The cheeseburgers should not have mayonnaise on them. I will work with the kitchen staff to ensure they are producing the menu items accurately. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. As far as the service goes, there is no excuse for that. We have had very few complaints in the last 2 months, with several in the first month. To my knowledge, the guests were pleased with the level of service they received. Again, thank you for bringing this to my attention. The issue has already been addressed. Our establishment has a total of 13 tables, which comfortably seat 48 guests. The back dining area is separate from the front, and can be reserved for a party of 20, at most. I hope you will come give us a second chance. Please contact me directly if you have any further questions, comments, or concerns.

My boyfriend and I have been here on several occasions both together and with other people. It is a typical small-town breakfast and lunch cafe. The food is exceptional, their staff are pleasant and helpful, and the atmosphere is friendly. Definitely would recommend for any day of the week or for a nice weekend brunch. We will be going back!
