Desperate for somewhere to eat on a long journey, and not finding anywhere for miles, suddenly we came upon Rochester, and discovered Sandyâs - just our sort of place, and perfect for our needs. Wonderful bookshop ambience, super friendly staff, and fantastic bagel sandwiches!

The price of empire, as demonstrated by the Roman Empire and ever since, is inflation, exemplified here by the ever-increasing prices at the Rochester Cafe. I always stop here on my way north to either Montpelier or Burlington to visit my daughters, and this trip was no exception. I had a specialty sandwich (can't remember which one, but it had the best ingredients on the best, "artisan-crafted" bread, along with a couple of cups of gourmet coffee. The price, including tip, was the best part of a twenty. In contrast, for less than 2/3 the price, I had a wonderful meal in a Viet Names restaurant in Montpelier later that day. Good food--but at HIGH prices!
Breakfast and sandwich shop located in the heart of downtown Randolph. Sandwiches, Coffee, Soups, salads and eclectic snacks and drinks. Helping to sustain the community by using local and organic produce when available.
Had a lunch meeting with some old friends. Great space upstairs for us to enjoy each other's company and not feel bad about lingering after the lunch. Everyone had a different sandwich and all were pleased and most everything was local.
This is a terrific local cafe that offers wonderful coffee and pastries as well as ice cream and light lunch fare. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of comfortable seating and the atmosphere is very inviting. It is a great place and definitely worth a veer off the highway to stop by! We were staying nearby visiting family, and ended up going daily because we enjoyed it so much!
We ordered take out food from the Chefâs Market. We requested a Caesar salad, BLT and the salad with curry chicken. We were told they donât make the Caesar salad to go, so we asked for that salad to eat-in and we would put it in a to-go container ourselves. This clearly aggravated the cashier but she finally agreed. Then we asked for plain grilled chicken in lieu of curry chicken on the salad. Clearly substitutions are not welcome nor a norm. The cashier had to go ask the cook who looked VERY unhappy about this request. We were told to wait upstairs and they would bring the food to us. They finally did after a VERY long wait. Our entire order was prepared to eat-in. When I mentioned it to the cashier who delivered our food to us upstairs, she ignored me!After we packed up our entire order to-go, when leaving, the cashier asked if we enjoyed our meal with a Cheshire Cat grin.Needless to say it was a BAD EXPERIENCE and we wonât be returning.

Had a very nice meal here with my wife. The menu is interesting and varied, based on what they get from their farm, and surrounding farms. So be prepared for some dishes that look out of the ordinary. But out of the ordinary is a good thing here. The pulled pork wa great, with polenta and smoked poblano pepper. And I learned what a curry squash is - so tasty. Cream of celery soup was great. Service was very friendly and spot on.
