Find out what American restaurants to try in Peru. Peru is a city in, and the county seat of, Miami County, Indiana, United States. The population was 11,417 at the 2010 census, making it the most populous city in Miami County. Peru is located along the Wabash River, which divides the city in two.

Although they do have food (mostly fried) we stopped for the hand dipped ice cream. We tried 4 flavors and they were all good with rich ice cream and good ingredients. The server was unpleasant with a "why are you bothering me" type of attitude. A second server was much more pleasant (too bad we didn't get her).

We probably didn't catch "Wings" at its best because a huge number (probably 40+) descended on them recently for a family reunion. They certainly gave it their best shot.Best part of the meal definitely were the wings - very meaty, perfectly (not overly) cooked with a variety of sauces from which to choose. The sides were o.k. Beer menu had a pretty good selection. Service was probably as good as could have been expected for a constantly moving-around bunch. Prices were reasonable. It will not be remembered for its decor, ambiance (or bathrooms).

We eat here 1 to 2 times a month, and have never been disappointed. Great food and friendly servers.Well made burgers, but also a great tilapia sandwich. Definitely don't miss the onion rings, either by themselves or on a burger. Even if you're not a "bar" person, just consider this a great local restaurant.
This restaurant is a nice addition to the dining options in Peru. Newly renovated, the ambiance feels almost like a beach or lakeside bar; light colored wood, clean and well maintained. Our server, Felicia, was friendly, informative and accommodating. We came for a late lunch, so seating was readily available. Being a smaller facility, it is easy to see why there may be waits at more popular times. The opening salads were fresh and flavorful The pulled pork, as well as the breadsticks, were tasty choices. The pizza was ok, with ample toppings on the deluxe option. We're looking forward to return trips; and trying other offerings (eg. brisket, ribs, etc.).

We've eaten here several times; and (ironically) our favorite selection has been their Big Catch dinner. It may not be the greatest fish dinner ever; but for Peru, In it provides a pretty decent option. The facility is clean and well-maintained; with a local sports bar ambiance. Our servers, Dani and Morgan, have been friendly and attentive. The opening cheesy bacon pub chips are tasty and shareable. We order the fish grilled, with butter on the side. The broccoli and rice make for satisfying accompaniments. Although one wouldn't trade this for a trip to the Gulf coast (this being a 3 or 4 star option in other areas); for mid-north Indiana, this is a decent choice for a fish dinner.

Nice busy party atmosphere for a night out. They have special menu items and offer nightly specials. They also have blue bands throughout the week. Nice options with wine and drinks. Lots of history in the old building it's in. If you eat upstairs you can see the Wabash river. Staff is great and attentive. Place is always busy but service is timely. Maybe some better training with the bar staff. My wife ordered a really common mixed drink and the bar didn't know what it was or how to make it. A customer had to go up and tell her how to make it after looking it up online....sad but amusing to watch. The bartender boasted she had been a bartender for years.....evidently she hasn't served many mixed drinks in all of those years. Definitely stop in and visit. Lunch is great too!! The portions are large. We usually have to get leftover containers to go.

The menu has selections of Mexican, Italian, pizzas and american food. I had a reuben sandwich and my wife had a hamburger with onion rings. The hamburger appeared to be quite good. The onion rings were nothing special. The reuben sandwich had very little sauerkraut and no russian dressing on it. I would call it a fake rueben sandwich. The service was good. The restaurant was fairly quiet considering the crowd. It seems to be a location that many people like in the community. I will return to try the baked spaghetti sometime-it looked delicious. The place appeared to be clean. Parking is at a premium during rush hours.

Since we hadn't stopped in for several years, we came by for dinner on our way home from Indy. The facility is nothing fancy; somewhat cavernous, with older and worn furnishings. There are some beautiful Amish quilts (for sale) adorning the walls. Our server, Chloe, was friendly and intermittently attentive. The food, overall, is very good. We have always chosen the buffet, to give us the best range of options. The fried chicken is pretty decent (and the primary reason we usually stop in), as is the ham; with other items ranging from fair to very good. The salad bar has a variety of items from which to choose, and is kept fresh most of the time. The mashed potatoes were great, as was the nibblet corn. The dessert items on the buffet were okay, with the soft serve ice-cream the best of the lot (pie can be ordered at extra cost). There were complimentary rootbeer barrels at the cashier stand which were quite tasty (hadn't had them in & years). All and all, this is a strong option if one is seeking some filling, homemade tasting comfort food.

This was my first visit to Gabriel's and I can understand why it is a favor place for breakfast/brunch/lunch. The multi-page menu offers numerous choices--one would have to go back many times in order to try everything. I eventually decided on a "breakfast special": two eggs scrambled; a slice of ham; hash-browns, toast (rye!)--the servings were enormous and I needed a box! Best of all, the food was very tasty.

Read about Voodoo Public House on here since we had a gymnastics meet in Peru, and definitely glad we tried it! Everything the six of us had was amazing - tacos, pork Cubano sandwich, Turkey wraps, BALT, pommes fritos, Mexican street corn. Our server was super friendly, and we really enjoyed our visit! Wish we didn't live so far away!
