Obviously being a cowpoke means you are so hungry after hard day working in the ranch that you can choke down some flavorless slop. However, for this city slicker the food was barely edible and my wife passed altogether. My husband got the two meat plate with sausage, brisket, corn and green beans. Everything was bland and underwhelming. My food was just bad, I got the sausage sandwich and the sausage casing was so hard you couldn't bite through it and tasted like it was food poisoning waiting to happen. The only redeemable thing is the place is cheap so we didn't feel to bad about tossing over half the food.

A great example of a home-town fried chicken joint! Fast, friendly service, Good, hot fried chicken. Small dining area with good seating.
We were traveling from Laredo to San Antonio and decided to stop for lunch. There were lots of options to choose from but the outside looked like it would be a fun place to eat.Uh, no. It's essentially a buffet- of canned vegetables, greasy meats and overcooked everything. We decided to order off the menu- our waitress alternated between being really nice and ignoring us. She recommended the roast beef sandwich which came with mashed potatoes. The best part of the sandwich was the white bread. Neither my colleague or I finished it- the meat was simultaneously greasy and dry. The gravy was slightly reheated congealed goop. It was the kind of sandwich that could make someone go Vegan. The place is 'decorated' with animal heads. Trophies of various hunts, I'd assume. Again, not at all appetizing. We decided to just get the pies because they looked good. I ordered the coconut and my colleague ordered the lemon. Both were acceptable. Certainly not the greatest coconut cream pie ever- the crust was noticably salty. The cream filling was pretty good though.Oddly enough I was at a grocery store here in San Antonio and I noticed that my checkout clerk was from Pearsall so I asked him about the restaurant and he just shook his head. Apparently it's a place for hunters and guys who work in the Fracking industry. So, if you're really into greasy food and want to eat surrounded by dead animals, you'll be quite comfortable there.
