The couple that own this place have hit a home run. We were in there for breakfast and it was quick, tasty and filling. Do not be scared off by the dish names like Breakfast Mess. This is essentially a 'skillet' you would order in a chain. The no frills paper and plastic service also add a touch of home to good old comfort food. Oddly, their chili is Cincinnati Style and not Southwestern as one might expect. It sure is good and they serve it with breakfast or you can get it 3 Way if you prefer. Pretty darn good and if you are in town for any length of time, worth the stop. The drive through was busy too.

DJ's only has eight tables, five of which are home built. If atmosphere is not a concern and good food is stop here. Try the hot hamburger with french fries and gravy (white or brown) a trye taste sensation. Hand made burgers come in large and small with all the trimmings. Refill drinks are no extra cost. Drive in window service is available.

We came across Okie's while riding thru town looking for a quick lunch before heading out to the Pioneer Woman lodge. Burgers and fries at the local drive-in is usually a good choice. This choice was not only good, it was AWESOME! Handmade burgers, fresh ground beef, griddle cooked with that lovely touch of carmelization on the meat...heaven! Then there were the fries. I didn't ask...but I'd bet money that they were fresh cut, fried so well you could actually taste the potato!! Take my advice...unless you are sharing with at least 2 additional hungry folks...get the half order! It's enough for 2, easy! The 4 of us were stuffed when they mentioned that their ice cream was HOMEMADE!! We couldn't force another bite...but we'll be back..next time we'll try it out.

We ate here as an alternative to Pioneer Woman. Upon driving up to it wondered if it would be good. Yes it was. The service was good (could have used some drink refills) and barbq excellent. We had a party of 5 and each of us had something different. Excellent sauce!! Don't be turn away due to appearance. It was clean and very tasty.

In their hit "The Last Resort," the Eagles sing, "You call some place paradise, kiss it goodbye." Maybe the Stillwater locals are following this adage and not posting about Good Little Eater, BY FAR Stillwater's best dining establishment for brunch, lunch, takeout, and bakery items. Freshly made, rotating menus, with an amazing balance between healthy choices and comfort dishes, Good Little Eater will draw you in like the kitchen of that beloved grandmother or aunt. On two recent visits, my daughter and I shared dishes as diverse as chicken mole enchiladas, a Greek plate that included freshly toasted pita and carrot hummus, and a flatbread pizza. Yeah, you'll be comfortably full, but NOT TO BE MISSED are stunning desserts, including an amazing "individual" coconut tart big enough to share with big mugs of the cafe's smooth and fresh coffee. The lunch/brunch plates satisfy and birth a yearning to relive the experience, so we took home Sarah's & staff's frozen casseroles (from a stand-alone freezer full of goodies; we chose tamale pie and lasagna). Good Little Eater declares Friday "Pie Day;" on our visit, the specialty was strawberry cream. A well-stocked bakery case displays oodles of cookies better than Mama made. Our favorite is the fist-sized ginger molasses, so chewy and spicy and rich without giving that too-full feeling.Good Little Eater makes every trip to Stillwater special. I only wish they'd open a branch in TEXAS!!!! Do not miss this chance to experience great food and a cozy dine-in experience. Somehow kid-friendly and friends/couples intimate. Check their Facebook page for dining hours as they are not open every weekend.

Wow! Great food, great service and clean. We had chicken strips, fries (fresh cut), a cheeseburger (juicy and on a soft, fresh bun), crispy tator tots and a club sandwich (served on a tortilla). Everything was delicious! They even have crushed ice for the drinks! Prices are very reasonable, $35 plus tip for the four of us. We will definitely eat here again the next time we're in Pawhuska.

P-Town Pizza

After checking out of The Boarding House, we headed to P-Town Pizza for a quick bite. We ordered the famous Not Knots - they were okay, a little confusing b/c they tasted like "fried biscuit dough" but had garlic & pizza flavoring on them. We also ordered a salad, which was just average iceberg lettuce and a wood fired pizza. All in all, it was all very average. I wanted it to be outstanding, but it just fell flat. I love The Pioneer Woman & her show so much, as well as many of her recipes that I personally make, however, the food we've had at The Mercantile & here, just didn't "WOW" me. See photos below.

We stopped in because of the reviews online and we were not disappointed. The service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful. I had a fried chicken sandwich and fried pickles. Both cooked perfect with excellent flavor. Only downfall was several of the things we asked about on the menu were no longer served there.

The Pioneer Woman Mercantile

Reviewed By Luvtigger2

We made a special trip to The Mercantile. Merchandise great selection, prices reasonable. The bakery was understaffed, we didnt try because with only one person working the line was to long. The restaurant had a 45 minute way for two people, once seated we made our selection. When we received our drinks the glass jar was so full of ice their wasn't alot of room for pop or lemonade. We ordered a fried chicken sandwich to split with fries and asked for an extra plate, when our food arrived our server, not our waiter said he'd get us the extra plate, we went ahead to start eating..our food was cold, the chicken was overcooked/dry, when our waiter shows up we tell him its cold and we never got our extra plate, he goes off saying he'll bring the extra plate...never came back with the extra plate, we stopped him and asked for our bill. No apology for cold food, no offer of refills and never followed through with service. The food was overpriced. Service was lacking in the restaurant and bakery. I wouldn't recommend eating there, unless you like cold overpriced food!
