We both had dinner at the Au Sable Inn, and were quite pleased. We both had the perch (nice sized portions) with a baked potato (per our request). We, who are from California, were delighted to find a Parducci (Mendocino County) chardonnay on the wine list. We had a window table overlooking the river. What a treat!

We ordered a all meat omelette and a Belgian waffle with strawberryâs. Out of strawberryâs on a Saturday, so got blueberries instead. Blueberry was something cheap out of a can kind of ruined the whole thing, had to add syrup to eat it. The omelette was decent. Certainly wouldnât make a special effort to come here but it would do in a pinch.
Owner willing to order what is requested if needed, selection is good. Prices good. Clean store, have yet to try the sandwiches!! :( On my list of to dos soon though. Friendly people.

I read other reviews and if I would agree the food has really declined. The nachos were good although we had to ask our server 3 times for sour cream. We ordered the seafood platter and what was suppose to be the enchilada dinner. Instead of the beef and cheese enchilada dinner we received one enchilada. There was no sauce on the enchilada and it was a tortilla stuffed with unseasoned hamburger. There was lettuce and unmelted cheese on top. It was cold. The seafood platter was ok but too many clam strips. The wait staff were behind the bar on their phones and eating. The martini from the bar and frozen margarita were the stars! Both really hitting the spot!

Went in at 12:30pm on a Thursday just to browse & purchase bakery. Not sure why but door was open & most of the building was dark. Bought German Farm bread (very good), cherry strudel (nothing special), peanut butter bars (poorly mixed), peanut butter cookies & molasses cookies ( both, very good). Unable to find hours of operation on web & none on the door that I could see.

Tucked inside a gas station next to Kmart is the best little restaurant in town. Awesome buffets, great Pizza, don't forget to order the Pepperjack soup! Staci always makes us feel at home whenever we're in town. A can't miss when we're up north. Go for breakfast in the morning when the bread is baking...best smell ever!

We stopped here twice, the first time just for a drink and Pollock bites (yummy), We came back the next day for lunch. Enjoyed their onion rings (good, but not even close to Red Rooster's Onion Rings!), hamburgers (really good, but not as good as Hilltop's). This is a very comfortable place to hang out and enjoy good food and excellent service without breaking the bank. If I lived closer I would be a regular here.

I stopped here for dinner and left unimpressed. Wiltseâs had Octoberfest specials. I wasnât impressed. The Wiener schnitzel was over cooked and over priced. We had loaded Mac and cheese. The pork was good but the Mac and cheese was bland. The waitstaff was friendly and the food was served promptly but I just felt it was overpriced and underwhelming.

My Husband and I had a wonderful dinner: walleye and sirloin. Both prepared exactly correct. The salads were delicious; homemade dressings were great. I REALLY enjoyed the Swiss cheese onion soup. Plenty of food. Very nice courteous service. Quiet dining by the fireplace. A very enjoyable evening for us.
