This is probably the best place to get a traditional southern breakfast on Oak Island. Everything was prepared perfectly and promptly. The service was fine. The location is showing a little wear and tear but clean and comfortable.

Great menu options for breakfast and lunch. Limited tables for dining in, but the ambiance is great. I just wish they were opened earlier in the morning and a little later in the afternoon on the weekends, but since they do a steady business, I am sure they need to rest up for the next day. Very friendly staff. I cannot wait to go back.Thank you so much for the kind review and feedback--haha you are right about needing our rest! :) We look forward to you coming back and seeing us soon. Have a great rest of your summer!

4 of us went here for breakfast on a Friday morning at 9:15! NEVER again! We waited 40 minutes for our breakfast! Not acceptable! We were told they do make the orders for small tables of 2 first not on how the orders are given to the kitchen! When paying the bill and we complained the woman was extremely rude! Her attitude was so what you had to wait!

The staff served my husband peanut icecream by mistake when he ordered blueberryâthis is a major problem because I have a deathly allergy to peanuts, which we had told the staff minutes before their mistake. He took a bite out of it and had to be careful around me and wash up for the next 24 hours. I am pregnant and a mistake such as this could kill someone with an allergy, or myself and my baby in this case. The staff were additionally trying to convince me that I would be safe to eat there with a peanut allergy, despite the icecream with peanuts being made in the same vat as the other flavors. This would not be safe for someone with a severe allergy and the staff seemed totally unaware of this, which is unacceptable for those who work in food service. The staff laughed when my husband told them about the potentially deadly peanut mistake they had made with his order, instead of taking the safety concern seriously. As a cherry on top, the staff insisted they couldnt put some tap water in a cup for an overheated pregnant women in the heat of summerâthis for a group of people that made multiple orders. Completely unsafe, unacceptably undertrained and irresponsible staff that should not be permitted to work in food service, where they could kill someone with their negligence and lack of concern.

Fine dining ocean front restaurant featuring steaks and seafood.
We had dinner at the Island Way while visiting friends in NC. A party of 4, 3 of us had the Grouper Neptune while the other person at our table had the stuffed flounder. I can't say enough about how good the Grouper Neptune was. Perfect. The 3 of us raved about the dinner. The patron that selected the stuffed flounder also said it was very good.We selected a bottle of house red and white wine to enjoy with the dinner. Very good. Pricing was very reasonable. During the off season, the restaurant caters to the "locals" with reduced prices. Smart idea. Service was very attentive without being burdensome. All in all, an enjoyable dining experience.

Sorry to say our experience was much different then the majority of reviews. Four of us went in for a late lunch. Service was friendly. two at our table ordered the scallops and found them on the salty side. Shrimp Bowl was good. Biggest problem came with the shaved steak sandwich. Asked for it without cheese and horseradish sauce (fairly easy, right, meat and grilled onions). First came out with both cheese and sauce and was sent back. Came back second time drowning in the sauce and no onions. the waitress says, "Oh, I thought you said no onions" and the four of us were saying no I clearly stated what I wanted. At this point every one else had finished there meals, so I gave up and left hungry and very disappointed. We will not be back.

Little bits is a small restaurant and you sometimes have to wait for seating but it's worth the wait. Our waitress was Kim and she was the sweetest lady ever. Made sure our drinks were always filled. The burgers were amazing. Hand pressed and large. The small burger is so huge. Many napkins are needed. I have heard they are picky with take out orders so I would say eat in.

We heard some good things about Turtle Island so we decided to give it a try on our last night in town. Unfortunately we had to wait 1 1/2 hours with a 2 year old as couples and large groups continued to be seated before us. I'm not sure how Management organizes their seating priorities but they need to rethink it and actually put the customers needs first. We checked in as soon as we arrived and watched as other parties were seated ahead of us. If there is a backlog of people who called in to reserve a seat the Management staff should be able to tell the other customers who are patiently waiting that there is no way they will be seated. We were told several times after our 45 minute wait that we were next. After 90 minutes we gave up. No second chances will be given here.

This was our least expensive meal on the island. Everyone ate well and was happy. Service is extremely good and efficient. This was probably the only meal during our week at Oak Island that no one in my party complained about anything! Breakfast served the whole time they are open. Definitely a diner and a very well run one.

We arrived around 5:15 on a Friday evening and ordered a variety of items for take out for 3 couples and 2 children. The young women who took our orders were very friendly and efficient, and our order came out in about 10 minutes. Everything was delicious --- especially the brisket and the BBQ chopped pork! Be sure to try the cinnamon butter on the hush puppies! Highly recommended!
