Recently dined here and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was about as good as it gets. The drinks were good, the clams and oysters were very fresh and the main meals were very good as well. The service was excellent, the entire staff was attentive and everyone pitched in. A little expensive, but you get what you pay for. We will be back.

Self serve restaurant in the heart of Newtown. Choices galore. Iï¸ had a fantastic hot roast beef with grilled onions and provolone, others had chicken salad and chicken and mozzarella. All the sandwiches were delicious. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Had lunch of fish and chips. $17.99. Fish was very fresh and well cooked. The french fries were excellent. They cole slaw was disappointing. Would have liked a luncheon menu in additon to the dinner menu. It was not busy when we visited, but the waitress was extremely hurried. Tried to take a plate before we were finished eating... rushed leaving the check and credit slip. We asked if she was anxious for us to leave.

Gorgeous decor and design, gorgeous atmosphere, wonderful server and sommelier. However, at 7:00pm on a summer Saturday evening, upon ordering appetizers, my friend was informed they were "out of crab cakes". Then, when ordering entrees, my friend was informed they were "out of the chicken"... What??? Then, after 3 of the 4 of us ordered the rib eye, a gentleman (possibly another server, but not ours) informed us that "someone just took one of your steaks...and now we are out". This all occurred before 7:15pm on a Saturday night...unacceptable.Jeeper333,Thank you for your feedback, and we apologize for the less than perfect experience. We do strive to serve fresh and seasonal cuisine, and occasionally certain popular items, such as the crab cake, would sell out before we can receive another shipment of ingredients. As for your comment regarding steak, we did offer a substitution of New York strip in lieu of ribeye, which I hope your friend enjoyed.Again, I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations. I hope you enjoyed the quality of our cuisine, and hope to see you again soon.

Needed a break off Rt 84-just a short drive for a fresh home cooked breakfast. Reasonable prices, friendly staff. Unique retro diner with dining room added on.

The menu was misleading and the service was exceedingly slow. We had eaten there before and it was good; todayâs food was horrendous. wonât be back.

Incredible Birthday Breakfast at King's, haven't been here in years and still as great as it always was, huge portions - fit for a King ! Rustic interior, wood all around with wood tables and chairs, Great, friendly, fast service, be prepared for a very long wait on weekends, but we went on a Tuesday at 11am and there were a few groups of people there, not empty at all but not crazy, we were greeted right away and seated by the Window with a nice view of the Koi pond, then greeted quickly by our waitress, who was also very friendly and helpful - we were brought coffee and ice water , the menu is huge, lunch and dinner, my Wife had the Bacon and eggs with Blueberry toast: Huge and excellent, thick bacon slices and all cooked to perfection, I had the La Bamba: Home made Potato Knish topped with scrambled eggs, Jack and Cheddar cheese, spinach and mushrooms with a side of fruit - another huge portion and again cooked to perfection, never had a Knish so I asked and our waitress described it to a tee, never rushed and our coffee was refreshed when it was low, brought our check and bid a good day, checked out where the lady was very nice as well, at the entrance/exit they have a 25 cent machine that you can buy some fish food to feed the Koi, which we did, just a great time - thank you King's for a great Birthday Breakfast

The farmhouse restaurant has evolved over the past several years into without a doubt the best all-around restaurant in Newtown. The variety of food that is served is of the highest quality and the dishes offered are prepared exceedingly well. The management is hands-on and very in tune with its customers. They serve an excellent brunch and lunch as well. Our family eats regularly and I am more and more impressed with it each and every time we visit.

The menu at the Blue Colony is almost an inch thick, so you'll want to take your time deciding. I had Yankee Pot Roast and my friend had a 3-egg omelette, both were large portions, satisfying, delicious, and served with plenty of side dishes like soup, salad, and bread. I thought the prices were reasonable considering the sizable portions, and had no room for the gigantic cookies and other baked goods on display. It's just what you're looking for in a traditional non-chain roadside diner. My only complaint is the corn on the cob. It takes about 5 minutes to cook up a perfect ear of corn in boiling water, but this looked and tasted like it had been steaming for an hour. Canned corn would have been an improvement.

Pub & Tavern Serving Newtown area. Outdoor Dining overlooking Pootatuk River. Events Space, Warner Loft can accommodate up to 85 guests.
After reading the reviews and checking out the menu I was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant. For starters they took care of us right away, we had a reservation and there was no delay in seating us. They provided some home made ranch potato chips which were really good before we got our meals. Four our entrees we ordered the Inside out Burger, the Duck dip and the Butcherâs cut. My son enjoyed his burger and the duck dip was very tasty and full of flavor. My entree was the Butcherâs cut (more like the Butcherâs scraps)now with a name like that you are probably guessing you will get a decent sized portion but to my astonishment it was about 5 small pieces of beef with a couple of fingerling potatoes. For a minute I thought I got the childrenâs portion it was tiny. For the price of the entree I would have thought it would have been a bigger portion. In addition to this when our meals were served they spilled a drink on the table which forced my gfâs entree to have to be sent back. I thought they would come back and at least offer to get us a drink to make up for the mistake but absolutely nothing. If you find yourself here stay away from the Butcherâs cut unless you want to stop somewhere else to get a bite to eat.
