The Club Room is located in the heart of downtown and inside the Portola Hotel & Spa at Monterey Bay. Start your morning off in a relaxing and cozy fireside dining room while enjoying a European-style breakfast buffet served with Peetâs Coffee® and bottom

The internationally acclaimed Whaling Station, perched just above Steinbeckâs Cannery Row has been Monterey Countyâs #1 Steak House for over 40 years, The Whaling Station takes the term âSteak Houseâ seriously... See the restaurantâs dry-aging room, selec
Service was very efficient and friendly without being intrusive.Slices of bread with whipped butter, Beef carpaccio, and yorkshire pudding were all very good. Strawberry daquiri does not have sugar rimming the edge of the glass, and they do not use fresh strawberries. My petite filet with peppercorn sauce, and asparagus with sauce, were both lukewarm and somewhat tasteless, and they graciously removed it from the bill.My dining partner thought her meal was all great. And the Pavlova dessert with passionfruit drizzle was superbWebsite pictures are prettier than what you actually are served. So some hits and misses. I'd go back for the things i enjoyed.

I thoroughly enjoy dining here; it's right on the water overlooking the water where one can watch sea lions playing, it has a casual vibe, the service is good, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. And, of course, the food is delicious. I don't get down to Monterey too often, so I ordered copious amounts of food and enjoyed it all. First, the sand dabs are cooked perfectly and are served with a nice tartare sauce; the meat was moist and tender and it's nice as an appetizer that is sufficient for two. I had the grilled fish sandwich; the bread was fresh and there was plenty of fish making it a tasty sandwich. And their strawberry shortcake is amazing; enough for two, it had sweet ripe strawberries and plenty of whipped cream and cream anglaise. The cake was fresh and it was one of the best shortcakes I've ever had. We came on a Sunday afternoon at around 1:30; we found parking right on the wharf next to the restaurant and there was no wait for a table for two. It was all quite a good experience. I look forward to the next time I can make it here.

We discovered this place via the TA reviews, and it was outstanding. Itâs a quaint little spot that had cozy a indoor/outdoor setting and outstanding food. I had the Chorizo Scramble and fresh fruit cup, and both were stellar. The scramble was massive and very tasty, and even the fruit cup featured a nice array of tasty berries and melon. This place feels like a slightly hidden gem.

My daughter chose this restaurant and it was delicious. Definitely try Lasagna- they are famous for. Spaghetti with meat sauce was great. Loved the Wedge salad and is big enough to split! Cream sauce dishes are super heavy. Cake was delicious and huge portion.

We stumbled across LouLouâs by chance, and saw the quirky shack, with a queue! - Worth the wait (they take your number and just call when the tableâs free) , amazing staff, busy, food is delicious. We hit LouLouâs for breakfast and you wonât be disappointed!! - Perfectly cooked, fresh ingredients, and good portions! Go if youâre in Monterey!

I almost never wait in line at a restaurant, but I could see by the plates getting delivered that it was worth the wait and I was NOT disappointed! Perfectly cooked eggs, crunchy hash browns, homemade salsa, and homemade GRITS swimming in butter! The staff moves people in and out quickly and efficiently, coffee was always full, prices very reasonable.

This restaurant was a refreshing and delicious stop in our road trip around California. The food was innovative and tasty. We had a selection of small plates which were reduced for happy hour including the coconut shrimp rolls, cerviche, calamari, sashimi, edamame and bacon and jalapeño mac n cheese. The Lilikoi margarita was also tasty and delightfully part of the happy hour deal. However the icing on the literal cake was the coconut cake desert which was amazing albeit a little expensive for a piece of cake.

Around 8:30pm on a week day it was hard to find a restaurant open in Central Monterey. Read good reviews and decided to try Montrio with no expectation. It was a very good experience. Bustling diners at that time they, all looked as satisfied as us. I recommend the duck breast.

Not in the main drag in Monterey but easy to find. After a freezing cold whale watching trip we headed straight to here on Tripadvisor recommendations and boy it did not disappoint! I had the Coast Guard Special (1/2 as the whole is huge, see photo), hubby Marine Special and son Air Force special. We took one portion of chocolate/peanut butter cake that took us 3 days to eat because it was very sweet and rich but glorious. The sandwiches were loaded and the taste amazing. Ive never eaten such a big sandwich in my life but was determined to finish! I would of loved to look around the store more with the memorabilia but we were very hungry. Bennett was on good form with jokes at the till and spent a bit of time chatting with us and I wish we could have chatted longer as he seemed such a nice guy. It wasn't the cheapest lunch once we added drinks and crisps but the sandwiches will be talked about for a long time in our family.
