Excellent diner in truck stop oriented facility. Don't let the building and location dissuade you from trying. Been ther many times on way to and from the eastern shore. Always excellent , large portion meals - consistently good and freshly prepared. Burgers, sandwiches, entrees and soups. have the seafood soup if on the menu , especially Maryland crab - best I've ever had and I've had a lot !

Revisit after two years......10 oz prime rib was delicious along with sides of Caesar Salad and mashed potatoes and gravy. They threw in a small dish of mushrooms and sauted onions.Needless to say, not much dinner requiredSpouse had sauted chicken which she gave a "thumbs up"

1861 has everything to make it a great pub - food, brews and bourbons, among other things. The food menu was particularly attractive because it offers a number of veggie/vegan options.I recommend the "backyard burger" for carnivores, and don't kill the great taste with ketchup!

We eat at Pats quite often. They have such a great selection of so many different types of foods that suit everyone in my family. The dining room is clean and decorated beautifully. We had a delicious dinner and the service was quite good. Will continue to go to Pats!

We were on our way from Wilmington to Annapolis, taking the back roads to avoid Baltimore traffic. Driving by, we decided to stop here for breakfast. It looked pretty ordinary both on the outside (a typical strip shopping center restaurant) and the inside (ordinary diner décor). But we were seated and served quickly. Our server was friendly and appropriately attentive. This is clearly a family place, and most of the other diners seemed to be regulars. On the recommendation of another customer we chatted with going in, we both ordered pancakes and were both pleased--I had the buckwheat, my wife the blueberry. Everything else--eggs, sausage--was standard breakfast fare, but well prepared, with decent sized portions, and at a very good price. Our impulse stop paid off!

We've eaten here twice now, once for dinner and then a couple weeks later for breakfast. The one thing we were really impressed with was the service. Ky is an awesome server, truly a professional, very mild mannered and attentive to every need. Every other server was super friendly, and spoke to us even though they weren't waiting on us. For dinner I had their shrimp and grits special, which was different than their regular shrimp and grits. Overall I thought it was okay, but the shrimp was absolutely fresh and plump, and perfectly cooked. I also really liked how they made the grits, cooked like they should be which was a real treat. My wife had the chicken and waffles, and thought the chicken was a bit too salty, but most restaurant food seems salty to us because we use it sparingly at home. For breakfast, my wife really enjoyed the breakfast pie. I ordered the creamed chipped beef over hash browns but the potatoes were overcooked to a crisp but not quite burned which totally destroyed the flavor of the cream, so I was very disappointed. Portions for all meals were really good.

When we came in we were greeted immediately and given a table. The restaurant is very clean. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was soooooo good! You have to try their tater tot appetizer they make them fresh stuffed with scallions and cheese the ranch dressing is made in house and soooo delicious but not available until after 3pm (pictured below). As you can see in pics, below they have large portions and all from scratch. The chicken and waffles come with homemade strawberry butter! There chicken is out of this world it is seasoned down to the bone! The gravy is also homemade with homemade biscuits. Only draw back they didn't have grits made but offered me another side on the house! Also I wish they offered more desserts they usually just have 2 You can pick from. I like that yoiu get to watch the cooks make your food and they serve breakfast all day. They have daily specials up on the chalfkboard. You must go you won't be disappointed.

Excellent chef. Food outstandibg. But poir acoustics so difficult to have a conversstion. Attentuon badlt needed to decor. Furniture in piir condition and carpeting so visibly firty and stained we will not take friends there. It would be embarassing. crabcakes are outstanding â as is the shrimp cocktail.

While in Middletown for a movie we stopped with our granddaughter and our son to get a bite to eat. Decided on sharing appetizers and went with the southwestern egg rolls, boom boom shrimp, crab dip and the cheesy tater tots. The food was delicious and hot and came relatively fast. Having never been here before we werenât sure what to expect but weâre pleasantly surprised. The three adults ordered beer and while it was not from a tap we were disappointed that cans were set down rather than being served in a beer glass.
Came here on the recommendation from a friend who has golfed at the club but we don't golf - just came to have brunch and watch football. They delivered on both counts! The brunch was fantastic - I had a burger and fries (not traditional brunch food I know but I really wanted a burger!) and it was delicious with a heap of fries - cooked just right! My other half had an omelet with crab and we also got the wings. Both were great - but the wings were phenomenal! And the best part - there was football on - EAGLES! It was a great afternoon and we will be back! Maybe even take a golf lesson next time.Thank you for your kind words. We look forward to making your next experience even better.
