A blast from the past. Not many old fashioned drive ins around. The food overall is good...not quite as good as when the hot dog buns were steamed. Good root beer. Friendly carhop service. Prices seem a little high for what you get. Steaming the buns will be a plus

This restaurant was a surprising find. My teenage daughters were hungry after spending the day at the beach and outlet mall. We searched for a restaurant and settled on Fiddlehead. Our server Karley was so kind and attentive, and the food was delicious. We had burgers, fries, mac and cheese, and fish tacos. Everything was delicious. We also appreciated the eco-friendly straws and take-out boxes. (Yes, these things matter to us.) My girls asked to visit again, and we definitely will the next time we are in town.

WE were traveling through the area thinking about getting a burger and a dog. WE remembered reading about this place doing research on the north western part of Indiana and decided to stop in for dinner. It is a well done restaurant. Atmosphere is nice and clean. It has that 50's feel to it with era posters and memorabilia on the walls. The original Schoop's restaurant was established in the region in 1948. Since that time it has spread to almost 20 different locations. It had garnered renown early on in its existence. As for how that early success translates to today we will summarize here. With the expansion of the different sites in the region it certainly can be assumed it has a nice following. For us we found the restaurant to be a bit pricey and nothing just "wowed" us.We ordered the Schoop's Hamburger and the Schoop's Mickey (in essence the cheeseburger). The flat hamburger is made in house and the edges are cooked to a thin crisp greasy point. We liked not loved the burgers. We also ordered their Chicago style hotdog. It was a very good all meat hot dog with a great bite to it. We added to that a side order of onion rings which were just okay-nothing special. What was enjoyable was the strawberry shake but again at $3.99 for 16 oz. and you have to wonder about the value of items received.Service as well was scattered is how we would describe it. Gone for long periods of time and inattentive. It was a very young lady so perhaps it was inexperience but felt it was a bit lacking at times. Our experience here was a pretty average experience. Nothing to rave about for sure. Add to it the lack of perceived value for the food offerings, quantity and quality and we feel it is a 3 star place. It might be interesting to visit the place Schoop's started back in 1948, but we are unlikely repeat visitors to their Michigan City restaurant.

Met here for lunch early after opening and was slightly concerned at how empty and out of the way the place looked. Maybe I had made a bad choice. But more and more people arrived, the frozen vodka lemonade was refreshing and the menu choices were numerous. Loved our crab cakes and salmon burger. Have to meet here again to try more BUT I believe they are only open April-September. I havenât seen that posted anywhere here.

Just off the shores of Lake Michigan you will find Shoreline Brewery. This Brewery has been nestled a block away from Lake Michigan's singing sands since 2006 and is a two time World Beer Cup award winning brewery. They offer twelve taps of craft beer, al
This was the first time we dined at Shoreline Brewery. It is a casual atmosphere and open Sunday - Thursday till 9PM and Friday and Saturday till 10PM. We each ordered "Shoreline Fish & Chips". It is English Pale Ale battered Atlantic Cod, fries and slaw, $17.00 per meal. We each had coffee, $3.00 per person. There were 4 decent sized pieces of fish, large amount of fries and a decent portion of slaw. Everything was very good. Our server was attentive and friendly. They have a menu that includes sandwiches, pizza, "small plates", soups and salads and entrees, so you're sure to find something you're in the mood for. It would not be on my "we must eat there again" list, but would consider it an option on a future trip.

We ate here twice during our stay in Michigan City. The first morning we were seated right away, placed our order quickly, but did wait awhile for our meal to actually be delivered. It was worth the wait. I ordered scrambled eggs with hash browns (best I've ever had....add onions and even peppers) I also ordered the crepes with bananas...yummy! We were so full that we had to skip lunch. The next morning we sat outside on the patio since it was such a nice day. The service out there wasn't the best, but we were not in a huge hurry. I ordered banana split waffles...I received a waffle with blueberries and strawberries? No bananas, pineapple or nuts...but it came with 3 scoops of ice cream? The waiter did take the price of the ice cream off, since I did not order ice cream for breakfast. I would go back to Sophia's over and over again if I lived in Michigan City.

Our longtime favorite for adult dinners or family get together. Good food at very reasonable prices. The Fegaras family has been our go-to for more than 38 years. Great steaks and ribs. Homemade soups. Outstanding cocktails and old-time bar seating for adults. Comfy family seating with kids

In 1974 Mike Buda, Holly's founder, opened his doors after many years in the hospitality industry at other area restaurants. It wasn't long before word spread that the food was delicious and reasonably priced, the service was excellent, and Holly's became
As always we were greeted warmly when coming into Holly's After being seated a great bowl of popcorn arrived followed shortly by the drinks of our choice. Our Server was Margaret and we were very pleased with her attentiveness. My husband and I enjoyed our favorite luncheon specials, his was the Turkey Patty Melt and mine was the Chicken Salad Roll Up, we definitely were not disappointed with our food. Will definitely be returning soon.Thank you for your review. We look forward to seeing you again very soon!

Euro Bistro offering great quality fresh, handcrafted and on demand food. Open every first Friday of the month for a theme dinner and the classic menu (make reservation, space is limited). Smooth family ambiance.
Surprised to find this little gem on the way to the outlet mall. Huge menu! The owners and food are authentic French despite the Italian name. Actually went a couple times while visiting the area. Definitely worth the extra drive. Sandwiches are attractively presented on wooden platters with fruit. The bread is delicious. I had the lobster sandwich which I throughly enjoyed. Highly recommend you visit!
