If one is looking for German Gemütlichkeit, he will hit the nail right on its head in this ancient house with its very good kitchen. We sat on the nice roofterracce on a blueskied sunday with a perfect view to the monastery of St.Blasien, where some swiss alphorn-blowers played their Instruments with skills. We were totally happy with everything and had a great lunch meal with asparagus on sauce hollandaise. The service was perfect and very friendly. The historical building is right in the heart of a cosy little Black-Forest-City with rivers streaming through.

The food was good, and the prices OK. The menu had a good variety of local cuisine as well as some more universal selections. Extensive drink menu. A noteworthy aspect of the menu was the allergen listings. Easily the most comprehensive I've seen anywhere, and it even included such items as artificial colors and sweeteners, preservatives, etc. I don't have any food restrictions, but I can imagine this would be very helpful to someone who did. They also had a seasonal menu. Service was OK. We ate outside, so I can't comment on the interior. The Gulasch Suppe is highly reccomended.

Excellent burgers here at a reasonable price. They are cooked just right with a bit of pink and served with decent chips and good beer, not much more to say.
