Abel Brown is a southern kitchen & oyster bar nestled in Surrey Center in Augusta, Ga. The name, much like our menu, is a nod to and celebration of our blended cultural roots. Authentic, yet refined, our ingredient-driven dishes are prepared and served wi
My wife and I visited last night and the overall experience was so wonderful. Victoria was our server (again) and she is perfect. Sheâs knowledgeable, funny, but also doesnât constantly bother you, she just serves well. The food is always delicious and the presentation keeps getting better. The charcuterie board is a must as are some oysters. We tried Rockefeller and broiled this time. The salmon dish was spectacular as were the scallops. It is our favorite date spot in town!

We dined in early May on a Thursday night as a group of three. The staff were very polite and helpful, and the drinks were served promptly. The only challenge that we encountered with the drinks was that some of the craft choices were sold out. Prices (for a steak house) were on par with what youâd expect. For an alcoholic drink, a starter/side, and a main dish the average bill (per person) was $40.Mains. The full rack of ribs were OK; they tended to be very tender, fall off the bone for the first half of the rack, and then tougher on the other end.The NY Strip was a standard NY Strip; nothing really âwow.â Thanks for coming in to enjoy some cold beverages, ribs & steak Thomas-GenevieveH! We only serve Certified Angus Beef® at TBonz! Hope to see you back soon!

You'll Love Our Food, And What It Accomplishes. At Edgar's Grille, we offer New American cuisine with a Southern flair. We feature locally sourced ingredients and are farm-to-table certified by Augusta Locally Grown. Outdoor dining is available year-round
Seventeen of us visited Edgar's on a Wednesday evening around 6pm. The place was close to empty. We found the place to be very attractive and the servers welcoming. We were immediately informed it was half price night on wine by the glass. That's great news. The menu offered a nice selection of starters but only six entrees. If you view the menu online you will see quite a variety of entrees. Our table choices covered the offerings so I had a chance to look at all entrees. First, the portions are large. The diner across from me ordered the 14 oz. New York strip steak and it was huge and perfectly cooked to his request. His spouse had chicken and again, a large portion and juicy. I had the seafood grits. It came is a large bowl and was loaded with a variety of shell fish. Excellent. Another diner had the sea scallops and they were very large and perfectly cooked. Also the appetizer portions are large enough to split. I would have given Edgar's a five if there were more entree options.

The food is consistently good and not overly priced. The service is average like most places. The salads are very good. I would recommend sitting at the bar for best service. Also they like to stagger the order, if you ask for a salad they will wait to put in the other portion of your meal until you get the salad. It will add 15 minutes to your visit if you are in a hurry....

All I got was some Cheesecake and Death By Chocolate. I can't really afford the steaks. I'm a paralyzed Disabled Veteran. I'm proud of my medals but it doesn't pay the rent. Thanks for the five star review, Wayne! We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us and giving us a try. We are currently offering a steak tips special that includes one side and a tea for $9.99 if you come and pick up the meal. We hope you'll visit us soon!Sincerely,Steak-Out

Went by Wednesday to pickup to pickup 2 $7 Bang bang shrimp.. A little disappointing, found out later you do not get bread anymore unless you ask and the shrimp unfortunately just slumped altogether probably from sitting already made for Wednesday nights. Most of the time it is good though. You kinda get forgot in the pickup zone because of their wait list..

My husband and I went for the oysters and were disappointed. They were small, dark and a bit smelly. On a good note we also had the catfish chowder and shrimp with feta dip which both looked and tasted homemade and was very good.

We are white tablecloth with a neighborhood atmosphere restaurant. Our menu changes with what is in season.
We took our son and daughter-in-law here recently to celebrate their anniversary. Our time there was wonderful and each of our meals, exquisite. I adore scallops . . . if they're done well, and Cadwalladers' Creamy Parmesan dish with scallops, risotto, shrimp, artichoke hearts, etc. was truly one of the most delicious seafood dishes I've ever had anywhere. And, if you doubt me, please see my hundreds of other reviews here. I don't say that often! Our son had the Veal T-bone which he's raved about ever since then. He told us that it was the very best meal he'd ever had, and our son has traveled the world and was raised by two parents who loved to take us all out to eat at great restaurants, and love to gourmet cook. We know good food! I can't recall for sure what my husband and DIL had, but they raved as well. So much so, that we bought "the kids" a gift certificate to Cadwalladers right then and there, so that they could enjoy it again someday soon. We live in New Mexico, or would be frequenting this great restaurant at least once a month. We will definitely be back next time we're in Augusta, though. Definitely!
