My birding group of 10 was so surprised to come across a lunch spot with food at this level in Presidio County. There is a great selection, all plated nicely, all colorful and healthy looking. Salads, quiche, etc. Daily menu changes. Mainstay on the menu is the fried chicken and waffles, which was wonderful! As someone else mentioned, it came with whipped cream, fresh berries and maple syrup. Everyone was pleased with their food.

The steak nachos took forever as the cook initially prepared something else for us. This didn't seem to bother the waiter. The visit was March 23. The meat was ok but was mostly located at one end of the platter leaving just cheese at the other end. The dish was what one would expect from a chain restaurant - average in taste and contents. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback - we are so sorry to hear that your food and service were less than exceptional during your visit last month. We take our guests' experiences very seriously, and your note has been shared with our food and beverage management. We do very much hope we have the opportunity to serve you again and offer you an experience in line with the standards we hold ourselves to.

Don't be put off by appearances, just count the pick-up trucks in the parking lot. These drivers know where to eat. Friendly service for our breakfast combos - eggs over easy with bacon. I had a biscuit (warm and fluffy) and my husband had wheat toast. Three strips of bacon each - all quite a bargain and a very nice meal. Salsa available on request.

My husband and I both ordered dishes involving roast pork. First a waitress (not the one who waited on us first) came out and told me and then I reordered. A few minutes later she came back out and told my husband so he reordered. Food we were served was so-so and over priced. Seemed like the kitchen and servers were not quite ready for prime time.Jeanne, thank you for choosing to dine with us and thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sincerely sorry to hear that your meal at LaVenture was anything other than outstanding, and we do hope for the opportunity to serve you again and offer an experience that hews to the standard of excellence we provide to all of our guests. Just spent a long weekend in Marfa, Texas and had the opportunity to stop in to Buns and Roses for a late breakfast. The food was outstanding. My wife had an omelet that was cooked precisely to her specifications and I had an awesome breakfast burrito. Everything was fresh, including the beer bread (an unexpected and surprising delight) and tasty. The service as wonderful. The folks there were warm and friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. It also doubles as a shop with some local items and we were good tourists and bought a few things. Nothing fancy here but a real simple delight.

If you find yourself in Marfa on a Monday-Thursday weeknight, after 9pm your eating possibilities are very restricted: Dairy Queen which closes at 10pm or Jett's Grill at Hotel Paisano which closes at 11pm. Jett's Grill has some very good meals with excellent service. As an appetizer, my sons & I had the Poutine, which was amazing. Picture gravy with bacon & carmelized onions over wedge potatoes with a grilled pepper on top. My sons had the GIANT hamburgers which were humongous. I had a small berry spinach salad with a vinagrette and it was fresh & delicious. Do take the time in to take in the ambiance of this classic hotel and the good food available here. Also, between 7:30am-10am, there have very large breakfast burritos for $5 which are a good deal & a good eat on the run breakfast!

Located 4 doors west of the only red light intersection in Marfa . Look for the courtyard with trees lit up in the patio. Across from Roy's automotive.
There were three destinations and the Art Fair the weekend we arrived, so eating and staying were a little crazy. This small restaurant handled the crowd very professionally, with every seat indoors and out full at 8 pm. The preparations were innovative, the cooking was great, and the service was terrific.
