Reviews on American food in Lynn, Massachusetts, United States. Lynn is the 9th largest municipality in Massachusetts and the largest city in Essex County. Situated on the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 10 miles (16 km) north of downtown Boston, Lynn is part of Greater Boston's urban inner core. An early colonial settlement and industrial center, Lynn was long colloquially referred to as the "City of Sin," owing to its historical reputation for crime and vice. Today, however, the city is known for its contemporary public art, large international population, historic architecture, downtown cultural district, loft-style apartments, and public parks and open spaces, which include the oceanfront Lynn Shore Reservation; the 2,200-acre, Frederick Law Olmsted-designed Lynn Woods Reservation; and the High Rock Tower Reservation. The city also is home to the southernmost portion of the Essex Coastal Scenic Byway, Lynn Heritage State Park, and the National Register-listed Diamond Historic District.

Omelets, French Toast, Huge Pancakes, Homemade Corned Beef Hash, Homefries and more! Everything can be cooked to order and is great! This is a cafeteria/deli style restaurant. You go up and choose your food and find a table yourself. It's inexpensive and fast. You can call ahead and have your food waiting for take-out if you'd like. The people are friendly and helpful. If you need help getting your food to your table, the people there would be happy to help you. They have catering as well. This is a hit if your looking for something quick, easy, fresh and filling.

I'm not a local, but I really enjoyed my dining experience for lunch. Not fancy atmosphere but great service and good food. I had the Ruben sandwich with steak fries. Large portions of good food. The fries were excellent without the greasy feel or taste. Really enjoyed the Ruben sandwich as well. They put the Russian dressing on the side which is how I wanted it. My friend and I sat for quite awhile after finishing and hadn't even looked at the bill and no rush from our server at all. Very friendly all around.I may become a local after this visit.

A few days back our friends mentioned that they often go here and told us of the specials: Mondays are half priced burgers; Tuesdays and Wednesdays are two entrees and a bottle of house wine, and so forth-(see photo below or call for more info). Our waitress Diane was friendly and pleasant. She answered our questions about the special deal and explained that some items (with asterisks) had a $5.00 upcharge. My wife and I ordered the Tavern Pasta: chicken, shrimp, and sweet sausage in a light wine sauce over fettuccini. (Wife omitted the sausage) A very tasty entree.A.J. delivered our meals, checked in with us after a few minutes, talked with us, and even shared a video of his daughter's first steps. He was extremely friendly, cheery, and knowledgeable about the restaurant and the food. Several of his family work there as well. He obviously likes his job, people, and loves his daughter. We made a friend--worth the visit alone! The Tuesday special is a good deal. Give Rolly's a try any day or any night. Be sure to say "Hello" to Diane and A.J.

I was in the area visiting my daughters with my sister and we decided to stop here for lunch. It turned out to be a lovely afternoon. The restaurant wasn't crowded at that time and the weather was beautiful, so we had an amazing view as we took our time, talking and eating. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. Our server was wonderful too. I'd definitely go back when I'm in the area again.Thank you, Elise! We look forward to your next visit. Cheers!

Went just for drinks before a concert at the Lynn auditorium but the place was packed! Every table was taken people standing everywhere. We had to stand in the little hallway where the bathrooms & the kitchen doors were & even there we were in the way. All the waitresses looked overwhelmed, stressed & unhappy. The food looked good as it was coming out but we had already eaten. The decor looked nice for a bar, a copper tin ceiling, several Patriots pictures hanging 3 large TV's, it's a casual atmosphere, The drinks were reasonably priced. We would try again as it did look good it might have just been 1 of those nights when everyone went to RF O'Sullivans!

Wonderful menu. Great food. Good quality. Surprisingly over-priced.I think they do a great job on breakfasts and are only open for breakfast and lunch. My mother loves going here with her friends for her rare burger. The burgers are quite good and I love the quality of the meat.

Lived in Lynn for over 30 years and have never been in here until my wife said lets try it, she heard the food was excellent and reasonable, and so we did , the food was excellent and delicious, totally caught me off guard since I didn't expect it as to good it was. The food presentation is like being in a up scale restaurant where the price would be double.

My husband took me here for a surprise dinner. The food and service were incredible. We started with the calamari with sriracha honey hot sauce and tuna tartare with homemade chips that were so delicious. We continued with the pear salad and shared the grilled swordfish that was on special. The whole experience was wonderful!! We will definitely be going again!!Thank you so much for the wonderful review, we are thrilled that you enjoyed your time with us.Look forward to hosting you again. The Blue Ox Family

We went for an early supper and game of bowling. The food was great and the service was even better. One caveat...when the bill arrives the suggested tip is based on the total outing not just food. Bowling is $52 for a family of 4...I'm certainly not tipping the waitstaff for that expense!! Kings really should adjust that on their sales slips.Itsme231,Thank you for taking the time to give us a great review. We are so happy to hear how much you enjoyed your meal and elevated service! We appreciate you bringing the suggested tip to our attention and will be looking into this to correct the breakdown. We value your feedback and want to thank you again for bringing this to our attention.Best,Keith R.
