The missus and I stopped here for lunch recently and what a pleasant surprise. This place is great! Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and milk gravy, green beans and baked beans. The guy next to us had a big juicy cheeseburger and onion rings that looked delicious---and he seemed pretty happy. The place was busy, and some folks came in, saw there were no tables open, and left. Even at that, the service was Grade A, and we got our food in no time at all. Both meals were less than $20 total. And....any way you get there is a beautiful drive.

Village Of The Blue Rose

We visited on Friday. The views of the river from inside the restaurant are amazing. The potato cheese soup was divine, and the pork tenderloin was yummy. But the best part was the people who ran the restaurant. They are so happy and welcoming. If you get a chance, speak to the retired teacher that owns and run the restaurant. She is a joy, and the story of how the Blue Rose began, will warm your heart. Handicapped people are servers and they are so lovely and patient. This gem is hidden away, and more people need to know about it.

This establishment is a new offering to a town that has lost several eateries as of late. I was impressed by the friendly and quick service and very reasonable prices. It has already attracted a group of regulars and locals and visitors alike hope that it will continue to enjoy a good business in a restaurant starved community. We will be back!

K.C.'s Place

The pork tenderloin sandwich was big and had a well seasoned breading and a nice thick piece of meat inside. The price was so reasonable. Didn't have room for dessert but I understand they are all homemade except the cheesecakes. The buffet seems to be very popular so might try that next time or the steak sandwich, which is another one of their specialties.. Only one waitress but she hustled.
