This restaurant has great food, with even better customer service. The food is a great value for food this good. We will be going back often.
Older store, small, needs updating. Food is still good, the staff were good, although only 2 employees and one was brand new, so ordering took a long time and she had to look at the wall poster to get the hot dogs right as she made them, but no complaints on that as she was new. The experienced worker was running around getting things ready for the lunch crowd it seemed. The main complaint was that in order to use the bathroom, the employee has to get a key and then come into the lobby to unlock the door. Employees use their bare hands when making food.

I love this place but don't understand why they don't have better roadside signs. I don't give the wow factor to many restaurants and I have traveled extensively but this one deserves it. I have always had a great meal here. I have a special table I like by the fireplace since it was a first date place. I love their cherry glazed duck that comes with enormous cherries. The salad is super fresh served with baguette. My boyfriend had the scallops that he loved and he did share one little bite. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. We had the amaretto brulee for dessert that was great too. The service is always good with a friendly wait staff. We came in way before the dinner hour and they graciously served us anyway. Some nights there is music. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food.
Jon Smith Subs is committed to serving the absolute highest quality, large portioned, mouthwatering sub that's FRESH FRESH FRESH! Our menu offers a variety of marinated sirloin steak subs including the Steak Bomb, marinated grilled chicken subs including
This is best subs we ever had. They will cook it fresh upon ordering. My favorite is cheese and steak, and my husband's favorite is Cuban sandwich. I love the grilled onions and green pepper to add to my cheese and steak. We come here every week since it opened in this location. You must try.

When this place first opened, everybody was happy to see somewhere new to eat. The prices were excellent, service and food were pretty good too. After awhile, the prices got higher, and the quality slipped. At one point I think the owner was doing it all, cooking, waiting the tables etc. Too much for one person and it showed in the quality. THe last time we ate there, the food was just ok, and it was very expensive for what we got. Now we are not such big fans of this place anymore...

If you're cruising down the Pearblossom Highway, with its impressive Mojave scenery and interesting pop culture history ("The Long, Long Trailer" movie featuring Lucy and Desi Arnaz was filmed here in the early 1950s), you might as well stop to cool off, chow down, and have a look at the interesting doodads and old-timey snack foods (like Blackjack gum, Jujubes, or Turkish Taffy, among many others) that fairly drip from every shelf. Maybe you'll buy some. We did. It's fun, and quite the experience. If it's food you're after, don't even think about it: just order the big, bold, gooey, delicious barbecued brisket and wash it down with a milkshake in whatever flavor appeals most from the long menu available. I opted for boysenberry, and it was great - richly flavorful and completely refreshing. Fries were a good accompaniment, crispy and plentiful. We got a big plate for the table, and they didn't last long. Neither did anything else we ordered. It was all very tasty, in generous portions, requiring lots of napkins for the juicy mop-up that is unavoidable when consuming "down home" food. Stuff like this just hits the spot. The place is very popular and very crowded. There is a lot of unusual stuff for sale, and aisles are narrow, with gawkers stopping to look at everything (this takes some time and effort). The line to order food is long, and service is slowed by big orders. Seating is limited and understandably a little cramped, but we enjoyed chatting with the people seated at the next table (it would be odd not to exchange pleasantries when sitting so close to each other). People here, both the staff and visitors, seemed pretty friendly, with smiles on their faces, just enjoying themselves. And that will be you, too, if you stop by here. It's that kind of place.Recommended.
