Reviews on American food in Lilongwe, Central Region, Malawi. The quiet capital of Malawi, Lilongwe is divided into New and Old Towns. The Old Town is where to go for bustling stores, markets, cafes, hotels, and restaurants. The New Town houses embassies, international aid organizations, and corporate headquarters. A large expat population has made Lilongwe a very Western city, and a perfect stopping point for tired travelers to relax and pick up some essentials for their trip to the country’s wildlife reserves or to the beaches of Lake Malawi.

Ad Lib Restaurant & Lodge is situated in Area along 9 Nthunthama Drive plot Number 9/69. Ad Lib Lodge is just a few minutes away from Lilongwe Shopping malls. Ad lib lodge is not just about how beautiful the place is, but rather how comfortable one feels
Had a family dinner outing at AdLib (or Katzâs as the livery at the door front seems to suggest). Experience was good (the food and the service). However the payment system is a tad dodgy! When one swipes. The restaurants asks you to (i) sign the POS printout, after you use your PIN [not very surprising as a good number of establishments do this];(ii) provide your names, your ID and signature in a notebook [VERY odd! as I have never seen this done anywhere].The owners claim that their bank (NB) asked them to do this, as there has been a string of fraudulent payments!I vowed NEVER to go back and also to report them to their bank (NB), as long as they continue with this behavior!

Distinctly decorated in dedication to the revolutionary artist Vincent Van Gogh, Vincentâs Restaurant offers unique culinary delights prepared by some of the best trained chefs in the city. With an open grill kitchen and inspiring décor, Vincentâs present
My wife and I had dinner at Vincentâs, one of the few restaurants in Lilongwe for fine dinning. The welcome was warm and professional and the ambiance relaxing. The mushroom soup I had for starters was superb and went very well with warm bread rolls. The spicy grilled fish I had for my main course was nicely done and combined well with the steamed veggies and mashed potatoes, and the dessert was equally delicious. The staff were all very courteous, helpful and professional. We were not disappointed with our evening out at the Vincentâs.
Nice selection of burgers, quesadillas, salads and other light meals and snacks. Many power plugs for laptops, which appears to be an invitation to come and work here, too.
Sana Food Courts hosts 5 Restaurants offering a wide range of foods including: Dairy, Indo Chinese, Flame Grilled. Also a cafe with a Children's Play Park!
I have had lunch here on couple of occasions as this is close to the place of my work. The best thing about Sana food court is a wide variety of cuisines and vast parking place. However, the quality of food varies and fluctuates. I had to suffer upset tummy on two occasions may be due to the poor quality oil or other ingredients they might be using. I have been avoiding this place, of late.

Due to the purpose of my stay in Malawi, initially we had been advised/ recommended the restaurant at the sunbird hotel in Lilongwe, so thatâs what we did, until a meeting and confusion about the location of the meeting brought us to The Lilongwe Wildlife Trust (LWT).We happened to find Fusion Cafe a hidden little gem! The settings and atmosphere is brilliant and the friendly staff canât do enough to help you. There is the option to stay however we have primarily only been there for the food and good coffee. If you find yourself in Malawi and indeed Lilongwe get yourself in to Fusion itâs good selection is good and all prepared fresh. It also acts as a welcome reprieve from the busyness of Lilongwe. There is ample parking and if you have the time take a stroll around LWT as itâs mini wildlife park is interesting and and insight into the amazing biodiversity Malawi has to offer and is working to protect.
