My husband and I went for an evening meal. After checking out the buffet, we decided to eat buffet rather than order from the menu. I got a fried chicken thigh and a small piece of fish, for starters. The fish was cold but edible. The chicken was fresh (the guy put it fresh on the bar just a couple of minutes prior to me getting my piece). I ate a piece on the outside of it - it was hot and juicy. But when I got closer to the bone, it was bloody. That pretty much did it for me. My husband pointed it out to our server and she said "it's bleeding". Then she took it to the kitchen. Shortly thereafter, a guy from the kitchen came and took all the chicken back to the kitchen. When our server came to refresh our tea, I told her this had happened before with raw chicken and all I got then was "you want me to bring you some more". When we got ready to leave, our server said she didn't have anything to do with the food and she was told to give us a card with a free meal and 15% off this meal. I never heard an apology nor did a manager come to our table or approach us and say anything. We've had too many bad experiences to return to Shoney's . The only thing they have worth eating is their breakfast bar.

We decided to try our local KFC again, after saying we were staying away because of several previous bad experiences. Upon entering, we discovered the floor was extremely slick & greasy. After paying for two buffets, we head over to the buffet. And, as with most of our previous experiences, there was very little on the bar. And what was there, was old and cold. My husband got two pieces of chicken and potato salad. Both pieces of chicken were hard as a rock from sitting so long. And the potato salad, which should have been refrigerated, was warm. One of the ice machines was down and leaking. I got a thigh which was mostly batter, okra that was old, and a biscuit which would serve well as a paper weight. After eating what little meat I could get from the thigh, one bite of old okra and a few bites of biscuit, I tossed the rest. I decided to try a different biscuit, this time with butter and jelly. Just like with chicken, I had to ask for butter. And some 10 or so minutes later, one of the employees came out with butter. When opening the pack, I discovered the butter was frozen. It's not hard to figure out that a cold biscuit won't melt frozen butter. We have visited this KFC several times, on different days and at different times during the day. And pretty much every time, we have to force them to put food out. And on several occasions, the floor has either been wet or slick or both. I told one of the employees at the counter that they might want to put down some rugs or runners on the floor because it was extremely slick. So, rather than put down anything, they got the mop out. And added more safety cones. All that did was make the floor greasy and wet. Thank God for those extra safety cones they put out -- I knew they'd keep customers from falling

Maybe one I've been to years ago. This one is clean, well-run and food is great. The last trip in I requested no mayo on the brisket, the ticket said no mayo but I got mayo. I started eating the mayo-less side so I was two thirds across before I saw huge white clouds floating out the side. I quit and mentioned it to the clerk as we left but it wasn't a big deal. Just get it right when I come back.
Also very fresh and very flavorful. Very good prices on specials. The staff is very fast and very friendly

My original review rated this place as average. I have recently started to go back. I order steak, in their 'secret' marinade and I must admit it is consistently tasty. They have really well done fried pickles and chicken fries on the appetizer menu. I will warn that the sandwiches are not as consistent as the steak is at this place. If you are in the mood for a steak in Lewisburg, this is probably worth your while. The atmosphere is much the same as my previous review....lacks a lot to be desired. I've had to bus tables and clean them to have a place to sit a few times....but... that is okay for a small locally owned family run business that gets slammed from time to time. Give it a try if you've not had it, give a retry if its been a while... just order the steak!

If you want good food and value for your money this is the place to go. We had a buffet choice of 3 meats, a variety of sides and salads and desserts for $6.25. All 3 meats were good - fried chicken, pulled pork and chicken dumpling. Chicken dumpling tasted exactly what our grandmother Mildred made which she called chicken pot pie. Dessert was peach cobbler with option for ice cream and a cinnamon gooey just rich tasting goodness. I would recommend this for both people on a budget or appreciate good value.

We stopped for lunch. Their burgers are fresh and cooked perfectly, so are the fries and onion rings. And the servers are awesome. They opened the door for us, came to our table several times to see if we needed anything and thanked us when we left! One of the best places in Lewisburg to eat!

I have eaten hear more times than I can count. They have the best stuffed potato around. I enjoy their ham stuffy and the turkey stuffy. My husband enjoys their pork nachos. I do wish the Lewisburg location had a dining area like the location in Athens. I started eating at Lawlers when I attended Athens State University because it was directly across from the campus and offered meat/veggies plates. I wasn't a huge fan at first, but it was conveniently located. Once I discovered their stuffed potatoes, I eat there as much as I can. LawLers Barbecue Stuffie Tater...one of the top 100 dishes in Alabama to eat before you die. Sounds like you Shannon1h1 discovered it long before almost anybody else! I imagine YOU are partly to blame that ity made it to the top 100 list. Thank you so much. God bless and OINK OINK
