One of the few places to eat that you can boat to - thereâs a dock and the ârestaurant â is a trailer. Outside dining. Very pleasant. Much of the food is deep fried, but there are a couple options if you want otherwise. We tried the rattlesnack eggs and all enjoyed them. Also tried the dill pickles which were very warm (hot!) and spicy. Woman making our food was very congenial.

We decided to go even though the parking lot had only one car, there's your sign. The server seemed a little flaky but was nice.We ordered the special which was steak,& choice of 4 shrimp, catfish or cod.My husband ordered steak & cod but the server didn't have her pen to take the order.I ordered steak & shrimp. She brought us both steak & shrimp, so she took his plate away & brought back the cod.If it was me I would have just bought a separate plate with the cod & left the 4 frozen mostly batter shrimp because of her mistake but that's just me..Ok next she left for a good 10 minutes to the kitchen or so we thought & needed refills on our drinks. My husband went & looked in the kitchen door window & didn't see anyone, so he stands there for a couple of minutes waiting with glasses in hand & just decides to help himself behind the counter for our refills. When she finally came out of the kitchen she was oblivious to our full glasses.Probably be because she was on her phone most of the time either texting or answering the two calls she received, not going to the kitchen to talk but talking & texting in the dining room.Ok now the food. My husband asked her what kind of steak it is & she said it's just steak it was tasty but I ordered med rare & the very center was raw.The shrimp was frozen mostly breading but I expected frozen but they should really change brand if shrimp they use as the shrimp inside were itty bitty. My husband's cod was edible. We didn't complain because there was no mgr.on. site.We mentioned when paying the bill how many pastries were leftover in the case under the register & she gave my husband a free peach fritter that he enjoyed. We've been here for lunch & breakfast in the past & will probably go for those again as Kingsland is definitely lacking in restaurants.
This is a great place for the afternoon. Very Good lake food (burgers, barbecue, etc), very nice bar, great views, package store, and music. It is also a gas station, boat dock, lawn, quick serve store, and all one needs for a great day at the lake.

Two of my favorites are their Chicken Salad plate which includes chicken salad, cottage cheese & fresh fruit and yummy homemade dressing !!! Also, their yummy hamburger and awesome fries !!! Very comfortable atmosphere & very affordable prices !!! A must try !!!

If you are looking for a great place to spend a few nights, Antlers is your destination. So many choices. Caboose, cabins, Coach Car, historic hotel. A great asset to the Texas Hill Country. Located next to the Grand Central Cafe where the food, atmosphere, and service are unparolled. Win, Win.

The best "Hole in the wall" barbecue in Texas. Located in Kingsland, TX just a short drive from Marbles Falls and not far from Austin. Friendly atmosphere and short lines. Tell em Spyke sent ya.
We been coming down to Texas from Chicago for thirty-two years and fell in love with Texas BBQ. Our family has sampled Texas BBQ at many of the well known locations around the Hill Country as well as in Austin. They were all great! This was our second visit to Spyke's where we ordered carry out of brisket, sausage and ribs for party of twelve. Wow, the meat fell of the bones of the ribs and the brisket was lean and juicy. My mother-in-law just loved the potato salad. Over all we are two for two in getting good Texas BBQ at Spyke's.

Located at The Antlers Inn, this Queen Anne-styled home turned restaurant, is a staple for the Hill Country of Texas. Southern fine dining served in the notorious house made famous by the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre film.
We drove a little out of the way to go to this cafe. It was very popular on the weekend for lunch. We were able to park our travel trailer on the street out front. The area is beautiful so I would recommend a detour. The food was average, but the house was pretty and they had some interesting information and pictures on the making of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It has been fun to say that we went here.
