CRaVing is located in the heart of North Buffalo in Hertel's shopping district, one block from the North Park Theatre. If you are looking for a gratifying lunch, scrumptious brunch, delicious dinner or a family friendly dining experience CRaVing's eclecti
My colleague surprisingly secured reservations for two at 6:00 pm on a Thursday mid-November evening at CRaVing - an interesting, quaint dining venue located at 1475 Hertel Avenue, in Buffalo, New York. On-street parking of which there is plenty led to a quick two-block walk to my destination - CRaVing. The single-entry door takes you into the âbarâ space which is directly to the right, a variety of selections along the back wall, and traditional bar stools in a row. To the left is an open entryway that takes you into a limited occupancy, but comfortably in size separate dining space â along the back wall is a row of âbooth seatsâ aligned with individual tables and chairs, as well as several tables situated throughout. Linen-draped tables with complimentary butcher paper, rolled tableware and glassware highlighted tabletop simplicity. Our friendly, soft-spoken server provided us with menus, took our beverage order (sparkling water - it was a work night), and answered a few questions. I quickly noticed at the top of the always-evolving menu a bold note that stated: âTodayâs Farmers Areâ with the names of eight famersâ prominently displayed. In addition, on the bottom of the menu it stated âWe are more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions or allergiesâ, and âPlease inform your server, and the chefs will create a dish that suits your needsâ â This is the first time I have ever seen these friendly and service-oriented statements on a menu. Our food order included Beet Salad @ $12 to share, Ricotta Gnocchi @ $ 21 and Mushroom Pizza @ $14. I had heard that the food prepared at @ CRaVing was fresh, unusual and delicious and we werenât disappointed. The Beet Salad tasted as if the ingredients had just been picked from the backyard garden, and the Ricotta Gnocchi and Mushroom Pizza had bountiful flavors that were easy to identify, but not overpowering. While dining I noticed tables continually filling, light conversations and background music that complimented the vibe of CRaVingâs atmosphere. The single-gender non-accessible restrooms, one to the left back corner and the other toward the left of the bar, were well maintained. In summary, CRaVings is a definite Hertel Avenue, Buffalo, New York âgo-toâ - the interior is inviting and comfortable, the service staff friendly and attentive, and the food explicit to this venueâs website description.Wow Lori, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thorough and descriptive review! We really enjoyed reading it, and are even happier that you enjoyed your meal! We hope you stop in again. Have a great holiday season :)

A friend suggested this place for lunch today. She mentioned the $10.00 steak dinner special. I could not find any information online about the special, but I know that these specials are not always listed on restaurant websites.Four of us headed to Tonawanda after church. There was a huge sign outside of the restaurant about the special! We were seated almost immediately, we were concerned about how chilly it was in the area of our table, so our server found us a different spot that was warmer. We all had the six ounce steak, and we each got to choose two sides. I chose the side salad (incidentally, it was not listed on the menu, but it was available as one of the sides without any extra charge). I was surprised at how large iet was!!!Our steaks arrived promptly. One of our group requested RARE, but was given a WELL done steak. She was immediately offered a replacements steak which was done to her perfection. A manager came out to ask if she was happy with her steak! We all raved about the tenderness and taste of our steaks! Six ounces was plenty! My steak fries were very good. Our waiter (John) was friendly and attentive. I hope to introduce some of my other friends to this great restaurant!!!W

Best brunch menu weâve had on our US visit. Presentation of the food matched the flavor - delicious. Crab cakes were crabby-licious and steak was perfectly cooked. Eggs were easy done. But the standouts were the cocktails, try the champagne margarita! The beers were also worth trying, local brews.Staff were friendly, helpful and patient with good suggestions. Parking is easy but after those cocktails you way want to Uber.Interior was a little dark but really well done. We had a table but the bar looked like a great place to hangout.

Always a treat to visit. Friendly servers. I had agrilled chicken salad. Lettuce, black olives, grilled chicken, tomatoes, cheese and more. Very fresh and filling. Comes with two pieces of French bread and butter. My friend had a bacon cheeseburger. Huge.

I was really looking forward to this place after reading all of the positive reviews. I can't express how let down I am. Even though northerners do not have a natural knack for good barbeque, we in Western New York are still lucky to have a few that come close, notably Smoke on the Water. Suzy's is, frankly, awful, low-budget barbeque.Pros:Very clean, which to me is an honest positive. A lot of restaurants around here, even high-end ones, do not exude "clean". Many are just nasty and an instant turn-off. Suzy's smelled, looked and felt clean. The wait staff was nice, but, a superficial nice. More on the service in the cons.Cons:CASH ONLY. WTF? It's 2017...it's a given we pay by plastic and it's up to the staff to inform you before you order that it's cash only. They have these hand-written, neon stars all over the place saying to visit them on Facebook. The only sign that says "cash only" is the same type of hand-written star at knee height at the service counter. We only noticed it well after we ordered. The server said NOTHING about it being CASH ONLY.Their solution? An ATM that charges a $2.75 service fee. The server had no idea how much the service fee was. Sure she didn't...The portions were okay, not too small, not generous, either. The pulled pork was competent, but not a stand out. The meat was average to low quality. Not a lot of smoky flavor. The ribs looked under-cooked and were definitely not fall-off-the-bone like a good barbeque rib should be. My one companion said they were "alright".The so-called "Polish sausage" was a hideous, low-quality highly pulverized version that anyone in the Buffalo area ought to be ashamed to serve, especially as a featured meat in a barbeque. If any place on earth should have stand-out sausages, it should be any restaurant in Western New York, especially, if not specifically, the Polish sausage.Don't get exited over the pictures of the mac-and-cheese. That's not what it looks like. This was a boring SYSCO mac-and-cheese with cracker crumbled on the top. The cracker had an unpleasant after-taste. The mac-and-cheese was bland and had zero character to it. It was anything but cheesy, gooey and tangy. The sodas. You get charged over $1.50 per can - no fountain option. Ridiculous.I should have walked out when I first looked at the menu and noticed the turkey and brisket are an additional up-charge. Cornbread costs extra. Anything and everything is extra. The menu is actually deceptive because of this. If you're looking for brisket, add about $1.50 to everything. Want cornbread? Add at least $2. Being a foodie and one who enjoys exploring the many restaurants Western New York has to offer, I have run across duds. Most duds I walk out of with a neutral impression because the effort was still competent. Suzy's falls near the extreme end of the dud scale, well into being a disappointment. Do not believe the hype on this place, trust your gut and go elsewhere.

We chose this restaurant because of the diverse menu and because of the decor which is a conversation inspiring! The Parkside neighborhood is great! Full of great architecture, museums, parks, the zoo, and this great restaurant! Enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich immensely. When handed the bill, Was pleasantly surprised to see the total cost of the meal in Canadian $âs offered at a reduced exchange rate! So nice to see that they care about their Canadian customers and want to keep them coming back! Will definitely be back! A big Thank you from your Canadian customers!

Oliver's Restaurant is one of the premier dining locations in Buffalo. Enjoy exquisite food, an award winning wine list and impeccable service in a warm and contemporary ambiance. Stop in for a drink at our newly renovated bar and check out our craft cock
I treated my husband, for his birthday, at Oliverâs since he has never been there. We arrived early (6:00pm reservation) and decided to have a cocktail at the bar. Older bartenders dressed very classy, knowledgeable of the drinks and friendly service. Very pleased! When we were ready to be seated, the host sat us at a small table on the other side of the bar. I was disappointed since there were many open tables in other rooms. I was even more disappointed that our table was right next to the waiters serving table. During the course of our dinner, all I saw were plates being put on the serving station with lots of waiters bustling back and forth. Not very enjoyable. With that being said, our meals were delicious. My husband ordered the duck and I the filet mignon. Both were prepared perfectly with tasty sides. Our waiter was very courteous, no complaints here. The decor and overall atmosphere are inviting.I would have given this restaurant 5 stars however, opted for 4 because of the disruptive wait station.

My companion and I were in Buffalo for a last minute overnight road trip and decided on a nice dinner out. Hutchâs was the right choice. Absolutely flawless food. The beet salad with whipped feta, pistachios and greens was so good. The Eggplant Napoleon was a delicious stack of crispy eggplant, fresh mozzarella, tomato and prosciutto-wow! For the army of liver and onions lovers-Hutchâs is the Promised Land! Absolutely the best fried liver and onions with bacon Iâve ever had-period!

food was very good perfect, I might add. One staff member continually[4x] opened the exterior door bringing in the 25 degree air.. I visually followed the cold air invader. it was the owner! Either him or the middle aged dish washer is allowed to make drinks.
