Beyond the box is located on the Jamestown golf course. The food is good, the value is good and it is quite an unexpected meal for a golf shop.
We were in the area and decided to stop by Rockaway Eatery for some bagels. They have a menu that includes beer, specialty coffee and drinks, fruit smoothies, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, burgers ($8.50 - $11.50) , specialty sandwiches ($8.25 -$10.) and wraps, kid's meals ($5.99) , salads ($9.75 - $11.), power rice bowls ($9.25), and poutine $7.50 -$9.). We ordered two Cinnamon Crunch bagels at $1.25 each. This seemed to be a standard bread-y sort of NY style bagel with a Cinnamon Crunch topping in the style of Panera. They were pretty good, although I prefer Panera's Cinnamon Crunch bagel. The staff was friendly and the employee I spoke to wrapped each of my bagels in brown paper and put them in a brown paper bag, since my order was to go. I got a copy of their menu and think they may be a bit pricey on most of their items. The employee said that they had been open one year when I asked. We might stop here for a bagel again.
Bringing memories back of a real bakery not in a supermarket. Excellent food and original desserts. Friendly staff and plenty of privacy inside. Delicious all around.

It was pretty good -- large portions, seasoned according to what you'd expect from a southern soul-food restaurant. Inside gets really stuffy and crowded, so I suggest eating outside if you can get a table; it had rained when we were there, so everything outside was wet.

Took my family out for dinner. Called early in the week and got a reservation for 6 which included two kids one of which needed a high chair. Having never been here before we had no knowledge of the floor plan. Very disappointing to arrive and be seated in the very crowded, noisy bar area. I commented to the hostess, we asked for dinner reservations not bar seating. Of course to move into the dining area would mean losing our reservation and waiting the 45 minutes to seated. We took the bar room table. Our waiter quickly informed us that was very new. He had little knowledge of the menu and struggled to remember the menu special for that night. He also had NO help, no mentor....just out there on his own. We placed our orders. he told us longer than usual wait time since it was Saturday night. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks. He never brought us any bread until my wife made a request after seeing other tables getting bread baskets. He forgot. Most of our meals came with salads. They were delivered literally 2 minutes before our entrees came out. Since we had just gotten our salads they took our entrees back to "keep the fresh". That was a joke. Every meal came back to the table slightly warm to cool depending on the entrée. I had Baby Back Ribs. They were horrible. We will not go back. I do not recommend Sammy G's

We have been coming to Southern Roots for a while now, but just now realized that what we experienced here is a pattern that repeats itself over and over again. The food is good. Service is terrible! We waited for over 10 minutes to get our drinks ordered, while other tables were promptly helped. Please note that this was during a weekday lunch, less than half restaurant full. The ambient is waaaaaaaaaaaay too noisy! And the AC is set to Artic!
