My family and I gave this place a try tonight after checking trip advisor reviews. Place has HUGE menu with many options. The fish fry was of nice proportions and the sides tasted great. My husband said the fish fry was among his top 3 that he has ever had. My son and I each had a burger and we were very satisfied. Just wish they offered different beer flight options. Our waitress was very nice and gave great recommendations. But oddly, waitresses around us seemed unhappy with one another or something. They'd talk near our table and then leave, passing our table saying something disgruntled under their breaths.

Come and visit this beautiful historic landmark! Built in 1880 Timmer's Resort was totally remodeled in 2008 to restore the original charm of this lakeside dining and cabin resort. Our beautiful lodge has fire places in each dining room as well as beautif
My husband and I have been to Timmer's about 4 times in the past few years. Its popularity has grown and it is now hard to get weekend reservations several days in advance. Last weekend, we were only able to get one of two last reservation times when calling on a Thursday for Saturday evening. Earlier in May, they were completely full several days in advance also. Our late seating time relegated our party of six to the bar area that was very noisy. It was sometimes difficult to converse with our friends at our own table. Two of our chairs were strategically located on cold air vents, but we compensated by placing the menu books over the vents so we did not freeze indoors. The wait staff here is very knowledgable, helpful, and efficient. Menu has been slimmed down a bit with new ownership. Nightly specials are still offered but several of our chosen items were sold out by our 7:30 seating time. Canadian walleye is now lightly breaded instead of sauteed with almonds as in past. Other variations abound.I wish that the restaurant would utilize the large empty room to the east for weekend seating, though perhaps it's not so convenient for the servers. There is a serious capacity problem at Timmer's now, especially on Friday or Saturday evenings, so while most of our friends can only go on the weekends, I'd prefer to return on a weekday evening for a quieter, more sane setting and menu items that are still available when we choose them.Food, what was available, was very good. Servers were most accommodating, but small things like sold-out menu items, luke-warm--not hot--coffee (even after requesting a warm-up), and noisy ambiance caused the experience to be less than stellar. We had entrees at $32 and $31, & 1 dessert & coffee for $9 =$72 before tax and tip. No drinks this time. Entrees include soup or salad and a vegetable.

Small Plates. Casual & Classy.
Went here after dinner for drinks and delighted to find it was like open mic night for local talent. Several quite good musicians, predominately on guitar. Only gripe was the ran out of Spotted Cow - shame on you!Would come back for this experience or try dinner next time.

We went as a couple for our anniversary in April 2019. It is a cute place. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was very average, especially for the price. My steak was served WELL instead of medium. My husbands steak was services MED-WELL instead of medium rare. However they were fairly high quality steaks so they were still tasty. They gave us a free dessert for the inconvenience and did offer to prepare a new steak, however we didn't want to wait. We might try it again b/c of the customer service.

Looked for a place to eat after trip to Holy Hill after craft show. So happy we went a little bit away from all the traffic. What a wonderful brunch menu. Had a hard time deciding. Had a vege scramble super good. I do want to try the Potine. It sounded wonderful but sounded like it would be great chased with a beer but I was driving. Highly recommend, take the very easy exit from highway and try this place out. We are so glad we found it and would be a good planned stop on way to Milwaukee or Chicago. Thanks so much for your kind words. We hope to serve you again soon!
Travelers Tale has a really neat story, our waitress shared with us how it started, you can read it on the wall in the bar portion of the restaurant. The atmosphere was very pretty, exposed brick walls and old tile floors. The bar has wonderful Sand Creek beer on tap, it's a local brewery that we go to every Friday night when we're in town. We had very friendly, prompt service and delicious food. I plan to go back whenever I'm in town. There are two sides to the restaurant, the bar side where there is seating at the bar or at tall tables and then there is the sit-down side. The décor is very interesting also, reflecting on the owners' roots. There are sandwiches and dinners on the menu. I tried the Rueben, it was delicious!
I went to Subway for lunch today, 5-15-17. I ordered 2 subs for carry out. It took quite a while to get waited on because there wad only 1 lady working there, and she said they ran out of food and the young lady had to leave to go home and get more food. I didn't have to wait long, only 2 people ahead of me and there were 2 people behind me. You don't mind waiting when the food is good.

Went to a dog show at the Washington County Fair grounds, and decided to take back roads home, we were hungry and spotted a roadside bar and grill and decided to stop. Doman"s busy, the Bar was almost full, the seating area was 3/4 full, and their banquet area also had something going on. Service was fast and excellent, we had or beverages with in 5 minutes, and or burgers shortly after, the food was fantastic, the employees were friendly, and the service was fast, I would definitely recommend Doman's for a great place for Pub Food

To use the word "terrible" to describe our breakfast is being too kind. They were not busy at. Our server was basically invisible the entire time, and she definitely wouldn't earn "Miss Personality". I eventually had to go to the waitress station to pour my own coffee! It's hard to mess up bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast but our food wasn't edible. I forced some of the hash browns down because I was so hungry. If you're looking for a really good breakfast and good service, I would definitely advise you to get on the interstate and look for a Denny's!!!!MrsRicardo, we appreciate you taking time to provide us with such candid feedback. We apologize. We are very sorry to read about your service and food on this visit. Your comments are essential to educating our staff about good and bad service. We will ensure your feedback will be given to all. We hope to earn your business back.
