Quirky great staff very friendly, food unbelievably delicious I am not huge fan of burgers but Iâve got to say never tasted anything so full of flavour cooked to perfection Would highly recommend
Visited during our recent holiday to Filey and looking on the website we had quite high hopes. Me and the family love a good burger but I'm afraid it was all a bit of a let down.First of all, this isn't so much a burger/diner but rather a pub selling grub at the back. A bit taken aback we stayed as we were hungry and the food was the most important part. Went to the bar and asked where we should sit. The lady serving didn't really have a clue nor did she look like she was that interested. Instead we ended up sitting ourselves down and finding our own way about. After discovering you order in a back room, we ordered some starter plates (squid, breaded mushrooms and chicken satay) and two burgers. One was advertised as having a fried egg. My missus being six months pregnant and having being advised to not eat underdone eggs asked for a well done one. We also asked to upgrade to Sweet potato fries. The chap was very nice and polite but seemed to have difficulty working the ordering machine which looked way too fancy for the job, especially as the kitchen was two feet behind him. This took quite a few minutes to order.Starters came back quick enough and were ok but not home made. Burgers then arrived with an underdone egg and cold chips (no sight of the fries). All was pretty bland and cold. The missus' burger was returned with a well done egg but on the same burger and bread bun so the slime from the underdone yolk was still there which made it inedible for her. Finally the sweet potato chips arrived as we had almost finished and again were cold.Whilst the waitress was very apologetic and again very friendly, we just felt really let down by the whole thing. Very rarely do I leave food but on this occasion both plates were rather full by the time we left.In contrast, the gent sat to the side of us has a perfectly good looking Scampi and chips and left us wondering if we should have stuck to something simple as it did look rather good. All in all, I would suggest that the owners need to decide what they actually want to be as its all a bit muddled. I'd also stick to simpler pub grub than the long list of burgers and toppings, especially whilst the chef cannot cook.Keep expectations low and food simple and you might not be too disappointed.

Came here early on a Saturday evening having read previous reviews. They werenât wrong! Staff were really friendly and helpful. Didnât mind that my wife and I shared a starter and mains, even asked âis that a 2 spoon dessertâ when I ordered the Crunchy One, which I would recommend. The cheesecake was served warm - really nice!Would love to come back and have a go at the âman vs foodâ challenge. Try the ECK, you wonât be disappointed!

A humble burger joint serving good burgers, good beer and moderately good banter!
I was disappointed with the atmosphere. It's not a nice place to eat at, quite uncomfortable and cold, with benches on some tables and nothing to put your jackets/coats/bags on. Service was ok, friendly but not outstandingly friendly or very fast. The burgers were very generous portions and tasted nice, but the cheese was not melted enough and the tomato was too cold. The sweet potato fries had an unusual coating. If I went again, then only to sit at a table, not the benches.
