This Hardee's is pretty much the same as any other in the country with a similar menu with occasional "southern" sandwiches (country ham, etc) added. It is located on a busy highway that takes travelers from Norfolk to central NC so it gets lots of customers. Service is typical, food is predictable so no surprises.

Found Captain Bob's by accident as we were leaving the OBX and looking for a breakfast spot. Seemed like everyone knew everyone else inside, a good sign that we'd found a place locals liked. We had breakfast - a pancake special for me, a cheese omelet for my wife. I was pleased with the pancakes and my wife enjoyed her omelet, though she said it actually had too much cheese inside. Coffee was good, and our server was very sweet. They have a lunch buffet, and I almost wish we could have stayed around for it, it sounded fabulous. Glad we found Captain Bob's!
Set in a circa 1847 historic home and named after the birth year of the United States Navy, 1775 American Bistro brings seasonal new american cuisine to the coast of the Albemarle with a farm-to-table standard.
Had a great evening at the 1775 American Bistro this evening. Wonderful elegant, gourmand spot, though very accessible. Friendly wait staff and chef. Can't believe that a place of this caliber is only seven miles away from the house. A welcome culinary addition to the Edenton scene! #1775bistro

This restaurant has been here for a long time and cannot seem to get its act together. The hours of operation change frequently to "economize". . They frequently offer a pizza and salad buffet, but not always...The last time we tired the buffet, we arrived at 12:50 for lunch and no pizzas were added until after we left at 1:30. The salad was OK, not special. I think we have given up on this one.

We walked over for lunch during a break from getting tattoos at Whimsy Woods Ink. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was quiet, the food delicious. We had the shrimp tacos, the homemade gumbo w/grilled cheese sandwich and a cobb salad. All absolutely delicious. The gumbo had just the right amount of heat and flavors and actually served hot! The shrimp tacos were awesome. The cobb salad also fresh and delicious. Will return for rounds two and three to finish the tattoo.
