Had lunch at Wingz and ale a few weeks back. We were looking for wings and beer and were told this was the best. The wings were good but not spectacular. A little on the small side. Nice selection of beers and attentive bar staff. quite a few characters in the bar as it is a regulars joint. would definitely stop back if I happen to pass thru again.
My first visit. Very busy around 6 on a Tuesday evening. Found a place at the bar. Menu is archetype pub grub, what stands out are their take on burgers. I went for the smokehouse, with pulled pork. Actually I didnât expect this to be pulled pork ON TOP of a regular burger but truth be told, that weird combination worked extremely well. The burger was a perfect medium rare, which most pubs donât get right. Didnât care much for the bacon, itâs crunchy texture didnât play well with the softness of the meats. I had the house salad instead of fries, which was forgettable. Broad selection of craft beers, with, alas, a strong bias toward IPAs, just when I thought folks had finally moved on from their inexplicable obsession with IPAs. Service was okay. Noise level high. My rating is driven by the quality of the burgers. Otherwise the joint didnât really connect with me.

Since we were in Hartsville midmorning, we thought we would give this friendly looking restaurant a try for breakfast. It is very "homey"/friendly in atmosphere, with about 10 booths and a food bar that has about 10 seats. Photos, etc are on the walls. The staff enjoyed speaking to themselves and the customers. We were quickly waited on by a very friendly server, and we did not have to wait very long for our breakfast items. Although the breakfast was very ordinary, it was warm and satisfying. The price was on the inexpensive side-----possibly the cheapest in town. Note: Although it is called the Carolina Lunch restaurant, only on Fri & Sat is there actually lunch (open until early afternoon). Most days, it closes around 11:00 am.

We have never eaten in Hartsville and tonight we tried Black Creek. The hostess/owner was very welcoming. We sat at a small community friendly bar while we perused the menu. We opted for quail with collards and shrimp and grits. Both were exceptionally good. The Edisto grits had cream and chucks of country ham. Excellent combination of flavors. The quail should have been split for easieraccessibility, but the flavor was spot on. Nothing this meal surpassed the collards accompanied by home made artichoke relish. It was a perfect meal and will entice us to return to Hartsville. The staff was friendly, helpful and not abtrusive.A perfect meal in perfect atmosphere.

Was working in the area and found this BBQ. While the buffet is smaller, it is excellent. Fresh veggies and meats abound. My favorite was the grilled chicken and Oreo dessert. About $10 per person. Would absolutely go out of my way if within 30 minutes of this restaurant. Decor was pretty cool and nostalgic as well. Keep it up guys!

We stumbled on this cute restaurant while visiting family. The Sunday buffet was excellent with many southern offerings and a great dessert selection. The roast beef was especially good. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. You wonât leave hungry!

I have no idea what the food is like, we never made it that far. Twenty minutes in, all we had was our drinks ordered. The waitress was clueless. I left money on table for the soda and walked out. We never had our order taken... kept being told we'll get to you. Everyone around was getting service. She must of not liked the way we looked. Walked accross the street to sams, got waited on fast.

Took my son who is a student at Coker for dinner after moving him out of the dorm for the year. Arrived about 7:10 on a Wednesday evening. Our drink orders were taken. He ordered their burger w/fries and sweet tea. I ordered the hamburger steak w/gravy and onions, fries and slaw.Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. His burger was good. My hamburger steak was a C+ (could have been hotter). We both received a very dinky amount of barely warm fries - D. My slaw was dry and barely average - C-. I cannot in good faith give this meal anything but an average rating. One other thing was that we were not given silverware. My food came and I had to go up to the cash register an ask for a fork. That took a few minutes because she was taking some folks money. Meanwhile my food was getting cold.I think that we will give it one more try next school year. But, again, this visit was not very impressive.
