We tried the Hitching Post Restaurant for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is modest, but the service is good and the food good and plentiful. My husband had beef stroganoff and it had shredded beef, which was a nice touch. I had the Reuben sandwich and hand cut fries, again a nice touch. If we are ever in the area again, we would be happy to eat there.

About what you would expect, complete with a waitress off-duty, sitting at the counter, talking about her boyfriend and counting her tips (yes, thatâs right).Breakfast was good, eggs, toast, good bacon, and oatmeal. Coffee was good!Plentiful parking, convenient to the Interstate and downtown Green River.Helpful Hint, grab chow here in the morning before heading South on Hwy-191 and Flaming Gorge.

Came into this place today for the very first time. Needless to say I will never be coming back. 47$ on freezer food. Even before I ordered my "chicken fried steak" I asked her if they were frozen steaks of if it was real rught then, batter breaded steak. She assured me that it was all made fresh there in the kitchen. So I went ahead and ordered it. About 45 minutes later the food came out. Cold and gross. Not only mine but my husband's as well. Turns out, the fresh breaded steak that was promised. WAS IN FACT a frozen freezer steak. Way Less than a quarter of and inch thick. And looked exactly like cardboard. Didn't taste much different than cardboard either. After the waitress came back to the table she asked how everything was. We told her the truth about how it was not good at all. And I asked her why she thought it was ok to lie to me about how the 12$ steak was prepared, b c i wouldnt have ordered it at all. And all she said was. "I don't know." And walked away. Didn't not even apologize about the food or apologize for lying to my face. Instead She blamed it on the cook... And went on tending to her other customers. As if if didn't matter to her. My husband and I did not touch our plates except for tastes (even the toast was hard, with no butter). My girls ordered pancakes and bacon. And the bacon was like plastic. My 3 year old wouldn't even touch it. I was very upset with how this woman handled the situation and so i walked out. My husband stayed to pay for food we didn't even touch. $47.70 worth. She didn't even bother to comp anything or apologize. This is not good customer service not good food. I mean, unless you like to eat cardboard. The waitress never said her name, nor did she have a name tag on. But the ticket reads "KAT."Hello and thank you for your review. But I must say in defense of staff and our restaurant this is not totally accurate. We do serve fresh foods, and as anyone can see from other reviews we have great food, and staff. Our chicken fried steak are made here. As well as many other of our items. Kat did call me, about this situation. As I heard her tell your husband who said you were just being dramatic and to not worry about it. She also offered to get you something else, and you refused. I do apologise if your meal wasn't correct or good today. I assure you that it is not the normal or how we want you to leave here feeling. We did have a newer cook working today, I am not sure if you are local or not, but I'd be happy to cook for you myself. I do apologise that you left upset.
My family and I went in on a Thursday afternoon and purchased some subs to take a quick trip up to the lake for an afternoon drive. We received really good food, as always, however the service was beyond slow. We started out as the only ones in there but by the time we received our food there was a significantly long line. The young girl had a very nice personality, but she really didn't pay attention to what she was being told and added "extra" items to the sandwich's without the request to do so. She also had family in there visiting with her which seemed to distract her quite a bit. Her mother kept getting involved with the guests, which seemed to make a few people feel uncomfortable.
