Thank you once again Trip Adviser reviewers for pointing us in the right direction. Valcour Brewery is a yummy place to stop for a beer and a burger. Behold, the Wilbur. A burger with pulled pork, onion rings, and cheese curd. Total yumminess. Combine this with a perfect pint of your favorite beer and great service and what more can you ask for?

Walking distance from City marina, many gluten-free options, seasonal outdoor seating, made-from-scratch menu featuring local beef & produce, great burgers, steaks, seafood & salads, local craft beers, 30 wines by the glass, Martini Night Wednesday & live
We had a department Holiday party before Christmas and the decision was made to get it catered by this establishment. On the nose! I can't comment on eating in but the office delivery of the food was awesome as far as my lunch was concerned. I got the Asian Tuna Salad which was sesame crusted tuna, seared rare, mixed greens, spicy wasabi peas, mandarins, almonds and sesame-ginger vinaigrette for 15.99. It was awesome and gluten free if you NEED that requirement. Apparently MOST of the Signature Salads here are gluten Free SO that's a selling point. Someone got the Warm Salmon Salad which ALSO went over well. Some got a soup and a sandwich and I heard ZERO complaints. I would definitely go and have a sit-down lunch or even dinner for that matter based on the offerings.

Let me start by saying that I liked everything about this restaurant except the prices. Great atmosphere, easy parking, wonderful food, and great service. We had the shrimp pad thai and the cashew chicken and both were excellent. But we paid $51 for lunch before tip - one shared app, two entrees, no alcohol, no dessert. That just seems too high. I wish them very well with their new restaurant, but we will probably not be back.

This is a fun little stop for souvenirs, kitchen gadgets, jewelry, scissors (an entire shelf!) and a whole lot more!!We stopped for lunch and had delicious sandwiches. The bread is so fresh. The sandwiches came with tortilla chips, which seemed a little odd to me, but they were ok. The sandwich was more than filling! There is outdoor seating with a great view of the lake if it is warm enough. Only a few tables inside. I highly recommend this fun little stop!

Locally themed cafe in the heart of South Hero; Ever changing menu offering seasonal harvests from local farmers and purveyors.
We went for dinner on a Saturday night. I had the Tuna and my husband had the pork. Both were excellent. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was full and all food is prepared fresh to order.

Have you ever been to a restaurant whereas you knew what ever you were going to order would be perfect? And not just the entree, the apps, the drinks and the dessert? Itâs a short list of eateries that achieve this stature. North Hero House Restaurant is that place. Hand me a magic wand I could not improve upon this experience. What else can you say except when will I be back next? Thank you all!!!!

I've tried this place several times now. The chicken tastes like rubber more that it does any type of legitimate meat. The pasta itself is so overcooked it dissolves into a paste in you mouth. The weird chunks the chicken is cut into leads me to believe it is processed in a factory god knows where, then frozen and shipped to this place. Then there's the 50 different sauces for the chicken wings. Do you really think they're making them from scratch?Service is downright rude, interior is dingy with sticky tables.Restaurant is suffering from a severe identity crisis. An Irish pub serving bad Italian food? It needs to rethink itself. Won't be going back unless they start serving actual food that's not frozen and microwaved.

My husband and I dined at Shore Acres yesterday for the first time this season (it is closed for a couple of months in the winter). As always, the experience was terrific. The owners, Susan and Mike, and the chef, Dan, have it down pat. We had some very tasty cocktails and both of us ordered the roasted beef tenderloin. Mikeâs wine recommendation was on the money. My husband raved about the thinly sliced red potatoes, and I had a bite (or two) of his cheesecake dessert. While enjoying the early summer lake view, my husband and I enjoyed watching the purple martins flying about and tending to their babies. I read a review saying that locals donât eat here: not true! There is always a mix of Vermonters, out-of-towners and âsummer people. Shore Acres is one of our favorite restaurants and where we bring guests for special occasions.

Located in beautiful South Hero, Vermont, The Paddle is a hidden gem nestled in the Champlain Islands. Recently, Co-Owner/Chef Phoebe R. Bright was voted "Runner-Up" for Best Chef in Vermont (Daysie Awards, 2013-16). The restaurant has won numerous awards
This bistro has built a reputation for excellence since its beginnings 15 years ago. Yet this was our first time dining there! It's a little trek to get there, but defitinitely worth the scenic drive. Our meals were outstanding and the service was efficient. The duck spring rolls were piping hot and served with delicious Thai chili sauce. The seafood Calamari was topped with large scallops. The filet mignon was prepared to perfection (medium rare). We could not refuse a shared dessert of warm brownie a la mode with fresh berries. The owner was present and eager to know that we were happy with our meals. The meal was a bit pricey, however we enjoyed the experience so much, we will be back. I learned that there are small concerts and events held there in the summer. If you are visiting northern Vermont, take the time to visit this lovely bistro on the Lake Champlain Islands in South Hero, VT. Reservations are a must.

I have been here twice and I would recommend it. They have live music on the patio in the summer. You can also walk off the street for the music if you just want drinks - sit under the big white tent. The mixed drinks are very good, but also pricey so donât order more than 2. I love their Brussels Sprouts small bites as an app.
