A park ranger dropped us off here after coming off of Mt. Evans (that's another story!). We were in need of some warmth and food. We settled right into the bar and the incredibly friendly lady working there (I forgot her name) hooked us right up with some fresh coffee and home made carrot cake. Both were fantastic, especially the cake! We were trying to connect with a friend who turned back to Mt. Bierstadt, and they were kind enough to let us use their phone and then WiFi to get in touch. Unfortunately, the dining room was closed, or else we would have loved to eat there. Very beautiful setting and a really neat place (nearly 100 years old). Will definitely try to come back in May when it opens again!

Sadly, this great iconic restaurant is closed. The mayor of Empire, who is also the landlord of the building is looking for another party to come in and re-open. Let's hope this happens.

We stayed here in town and walked down to Mother's Saloon and were glad we did. We enjoyed their Taco Tuesday, their friendly service, people, environment, music, beers, and the outside deck overlooking the creek. The Tacos were delicious and the bartender / owner was very friendly and courteous. We hope to come back.

Hot coffee by the river. Wraps, scrambled eggs and sausage, muffins all were good. Friendly service, quaint atmosphere, outside seating makes this place a must stop.

Breakfast was very good and the portion size was very good-we left full! Prices were reasonable, and the staff was very friendly. Georgetown is very small with few dining options, and this is one of the best. Highly recommend and will definitely revisit.

Great views on Trip Advisor for some reason werenât enough for me, but after the Kaffeeghaust recommended I went for it. Felt like a travel back in time. Sat at bar for âtraditional â breakfast, listened to local conversation & local sheriff sat at bar , doing the same!Thank you I hope to see you again!!!

Stopped by here on a suggestion from another local business and very glad that we did. Excellent service from a pleasant staff and the food was outstanding. I had Mexican and my son had a burger that he devoured. Next time through we will stop again.

Renovated victorian 1800's property with a large (seasonal) outdoor patio. Wine, beer, cocktails. Vegetarian and gluten free options available. Breakfast all day!
Ate here twice. Food was good (except as mentioned in other review our Hollandaise was also broken). Service super slow. Line of customers waiting to check in while employees set up the tables. One wait staff said to the other, "People are lining up." The other wait staff yelled back, "Let them wait." The proper response would be to tell the line of customers, "We will be just a few more minutes. Thank you for waiting."The patio is a wonderful location. Lots of charm.Unfortunately we had an unusual and nasty experience while dining. A family with children was seated next to a couple (and we were beside both of them at a table). The child was a little loud. No problem . I have kids also. So the mother was using foul language. I had two of my kids (not little children) at my table also. Here is where it all fell apart. The couple seated next to this family asked the mother to please let them enjoy their breakfast. The mother then started yelling and swearing that her son was autistic and they had no right to ask them to be quiet. BUT THEN SHE STARTED WALKING AROUND THE PATION YELLING, "HE'S A C%$# S&^%$#!" over and over again. She went in to cry. The staff all comforted her. THEN THE STAFF ASKED THE OTHER COUPLE TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. Whaaaaaat? The woman who ran around yelling profanity while my kids were at the table should have been asked to leave!! It was unbelievable. I felt horrible for the couple asked to leave. I would have felt badly for the mother as well (for the situation spiraled unnecessarily) except for her unbelievable profanity and rude behavior. I'm sure she felt insulted, but her behavior was MUCH MUCH worse than that couples behavior. The woman who was asked to leave kept telling the staff at Happy Cooker, "You don't know the whole story." But they insisted she leave. Only one waitress yelled finally, "So what's your story then?" But the couple were already walking out--having been told to leave.I believe the Happy Cooker owner/ staff have also an autistic child in the family. Perhaps this clouded their judgement, I don't know. But as I mentioned it was handled poorly by the staff. No one apologized or asked the mother to stop yelling, "He's a C%$# S&^%$#!" (Which she did over and over again). The staff needs some training.Aside from this incident the food is overall good. If you expect to wait a bit and have leisurely service, then you should be pretty pleased here.Hello. I am the Owner, and I am at the restaurant every day, all day. There is another side to this story. The people who were rude to the other couple (with the child) were asked to leave. Their behavior was not acceptable and we reserve the right to not serve people when it becomes a major issue or threat. We have training to respond to such issues and review each incident thoroughly. The one couple returned twice to our restaurant and thanked us for taking action because they felt threatened. Your description of the event does not match what the couples told us, or what our Staff described (there did not seem to be the drama or C%$#"$#! you seem to have experienced). Please contact me directly at [email protected]. I need to address this review with you.

Have stopped here before and this time ordered pizza and was not disappointed. Busy but the wait staff did an excellent job with friendly and efficient service. A little noisy but there was a lot going on and everyone appeared to be having a good time. Worth the stop off the interstate and easy to get to. Get food, get gas up the way and then head off to your next stop.

This restaurant has an outdoor dining area overlooking Clear Creek. Be sure to request the patio. The food is home cooked, so the wait time can be longer than normal. The soups and sandwiches are outstanding. Lunch cost $54 with a beer, so be aware if you are looking for cheap eats. The sound of the creek rushing by more than made up for the price. We would eat there again when in Georgetown.
