What a great recommendation from our host at Sugar Hill Inn. We had not booked on what we thought was a quiet Wednesday night and were fortunate to get in. We enjoyed a delicious, fresh meal based on local produce. Attentive and friendly staff, a perfect meal.

Jim and Janet own and run a well-restored historic home as a charming B&B, worthy of a stay if you are visiting the White Mountains. But this review is about their restaurant and Janet's remarkable skills as its chef. In a word: perfect! And this is from a reviewer who has experienced some really good restaurants in Manhattan.Janet opens this fine restaurant only a few days a week, and it has a small menu. But don't let that fool you. Janet prepares everything to perfection. She shops for perfect, fresh in-season ingredients, and through her magic, brings out their very best. This is a good New England kitchen and you can pretty much close your eyes and be happy with anything your finger points to, from soup and salads, to entrees and desert selection. 'Tis better to prepare a small excellent menu, than an undistinguished large menu.At dinnertime, Jim will bring you wines by the bottle or glass, if you wish, from a carefully curated collection. The house merlot is my favorite.Come for dinner. Or come for the night. You won't be disappointed.

Me and a buddy of mine stopped here for a late lunch.I had the fish and chips and he had the chicken-fried steak. The fish I ordered was cooked perfectly .There were 3 big pieces along with a generous amount of crispy fries. We actually had our meal at the bar.I wish I had asked the bartender what his name was,as he was a genuinely nice guy who was very attentive to all our needs. In closing,I would definitely come back again!

Food was slightly above average, with good service, as well as moderate portions and price. Place was preparing to close for the winter and it showed. Best feature was the colonial inn aspect and beautiful grounds.

Plain Kate's Riverside Saloon and All-Ways Inn is a family friendly restaurant and inn. We provide quality food, full bar and super friendly service. Customers can either sit in our main dining hall, our more private lounge or outside in our patio area ov
TIP: The best Pizza in town is here on Monday night - Pizza Night. The White Tomato Basil pizza has garlic, ricotta and mozzarella. Delicious. Decent price: 16" is 16 bucks. Take Out, too, although the murals are absolutely stunning. Great interior that really brands the unique location of Franconia.

We loved our stay, and wished we could have stayed longer! Doug was an excellent host. Our room was small, but had everything we needed. The library/study area had plenty of seating, as well as complimentary coffee, books, and board games. There was even complimentary brandy! The house itself was so nice and so well maintained. The grounds are beautiful, and if it wasnât raining the day we went we would have enjoyed them more.Great B&B, would highly recommend.

My wife and I had dinner at the Sugar Hill Inn during a recent visit to the White Mountains. This was our second dinner here -- the first was during our last visit two years ago (see my previous review). We were very impressed the first time and knew we'd be back, and were equally impressed this time.I made reservations on OpenTable (reservations are necessary during foliage season), and we were seated immediately. During our last visit we noticed they had two EV chargers in the small parking lot (Tesla and Clipper Creek), and this time we used one of them during dinner. We did the four-course prix fixe dinner again ($69 per person). For the first course, we both had the trio of soups (broccoli, corn, and split pea), for the second course, we both had the acorn squash salad; for the main course, my wife had the lamb chop & sausage and I had the cranberry crusted pork tenderloin (daily special); for dessert, my wife had the ginger creme brulee and I had the cherry pie with vanilla bean ice cream. We were also served an amuse bouche, seared tuna with butternut squash, between the first two courses, as well as bread with warm olives. All the food was delicious, and our waitress provided excellent service (I don't recall her name). The pacing between courses was very slow, but we weren't in a hurry. We had a bottle of St. Francis Old Vines Zinfandel with dinner, which we liked.Sugar Hill Inn is one of our new favorites in the area, and we'll definitely be back during our next visit.

A friend and I came here on the recommendation of a local who said it was a beautiful drive and a great end destination. The fall views are amazing. We both thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and the service was great. Do the pancake sampler, the pancakes are about 3 inches across, so not too big that you cannot enjoy the sampler. The service was friendly and helpful. They take reservations during the week (not on weekends). We did not have one and the wait was not too tong. This is definitely a must do stop!

The Adair Inn makes dinning special - we recently celebrated one of our close friendâs birthday with dinner at the Adair and it was terrific. The food and service was great and they made our birthday guest feel very special with a handwritten birthday notecard and a split of Prosecco. The Adairâs food shows imagination, itâs priced right and you canât ask for a more beautiful dinning setting. We canât wait to go back for another dinner!
