If you want a nice, clean, friendly atmosphere to have a good homemade lunch, this is the place! Dixie McGurn offers southern hospitality for you to mix with many of the locals & train watching tourists as you enjoy an excellent bite to eat for lunch on Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Friday's from 11 until 2. She also carries Blue Bell ice cream &/or a special dessert to give you that just right ending to your delicious lunch! While you are in the Whistlin Dixie, look around at the many items that she offers for gifts for yourself or for that special someone that you wish to give something unique too. Once you visit, Dixie, her husband Jim, their daughter Millie, & their helpers at the cafe will know you by your first name & consider you "family" as we consider them the same!!

My family and i love Jalens. We order a Boston butt smoked to perfection and have sandwiches at home for days. Can't beat his sandwiches that are large portions. His blackbottom fries are a special treat

The Brickhouse restaurant is easy to find, on US Hwy 1, about where it divides in Folkston, GA. It is somewhat small, with a dozen tables and booths, but the food is outstanding and the atmosphere friendly. It offers southern-style country cooking (meaning lots of fried food and boiled vegetables). The all-you-can eat buffet is always hot, fresh and delicious. Love that mac & cheese! Biscuits are light and hot, hush puppies are drained and tasty. The employees are friendly, and can offer advice about Folkston sights, places and happenings. The Sunday buffet is the best for miles around, and price is unbeatable. The Brickhouse is near Harvey's Supermarket, where you can stock up on picnic supplies if you are headed to the Okefenokee Swamp.
