Sadly, while I love Steak n Shake food, this location has very spotty service. If you go for lunch during the week, you'll probably be fine. But if you try to go for dinner, beware. They don't greet you at the door in a timely manner or provide quick service. The food is usually fine, what's you'd expect at a Steak n Shake but good service you will likely not enjoy.

I live in the neighborhood, and this building has been different restaurants over the past couple years, it keeps changing hands. I had avoided for several months because of the name. A couple weeks ago, finally stopped in, wanting to try something different. There was nothing different from the last place, bunch of fried foods: chicken, fish, etc. HOWEVER! I tried their gyro, and thought it was excellent! The meat was prepared perfectly! Very moist, not dried out, so many places overcook the meat. I enjoyed it so much, I had one again this evening. Again, prepared perfectly!! Service is kind and quick. Prices are reasonable. A few side options are a little pricey. And I would prefer to see more options that aren't fried. Regardless, I will be back.

Recently moved back home to St Louis to find this place up to its normal tricks...good wings. They have several sauces to choose from, and allow you to mix without an upcharge. Their steak fries loaded with shredded cheese, bacon, salsa, ranch, and sour cream (totally not in the menu but they will accommodate you) are phenomenal! Service can be hectic. Sitting yourself in the crowd can be overwhelming. To go may take forever. But it’s all good.

The place has been reduced to nothing more than a cafeteria(with matching food) with a bar of dubious integrity I might add. 4 for dinner. Pizza, sucked. Fish sandwich, fish not bad but way too small. verdict, sucked. Can't even recall what the other 2 were but they were nothing to write home about. THEN, we ordered a few beers. Mich Ultra to be exact. Now Mich Ultra is very much and American/domestic beer, but don't be fooled, at Gettemeiers, its considered a premium thus commanding a higher happy hour price...which we didnt know because there was no beer list or happy hour drink lists. So I asked for the manager and "Jerry" stops in and tells us that its not considered a domestic beer. We said it would be nice to have one of those aforementioned lists. He says smugly, "If I had to, I could make a list." Well, guess what Jerr, don't bother cuz we won't be back and neither will 100's of our friends and readers of trip advisor.

Greeted and seated quickly but we sat at the table for fifteen minutes and no one ever even came by the table to take our order. The place was NOT crowded - maybe six other tables were occupied. Heard from our son later that they have a reputation for bad service because the staff doesn't care about their jobs.I would love the chance to speak with you in person if you would like to go on line to our website or call her at the store myself or a member of management team will be in contact with you. Took the family here after a quick map search for nearby restaurants. Was very pleased. The microbrewery was very interesting. I don't understand the 10.5 oz beers, rather than pints, but nevertheless, the beer was good. Nice menu (non-pretentious, which I appreciate) with moderate prices. Service could have been slightly better. Kind of a weird set up. The waiter goes behind the bar to get his own drinks. Seems like they were understaffed. Waited quite a while for drinks without receiving any attention from staff. We'll give it another try. Food was great and beers were equally good.

We had the chicken dinner. This is not the best or worst chicken, just dry, especially around the edges. They have six sauces, three or four of which are good. With all the BBQ places in tis town, perhaps there is one a tad better, as after all this is St. Louis! Service was excellent. Plenty of chicken. It is just average or below.

Great way to start our morning! This local dive was one of the best finds on our trip! Small older diner with good friendly service and great food! My omelet was great. My husband had a dish with a mix of sausage, onions and peppers over hash browns smothered in their delicious gravy! My daughter had another dish similar to this as well that was just as good! The biscuits were soft and really good. We were pleased that we had taken the time to find this place!
