We did the full tea for two and really was underwhelmed. The sandwiches were o.k. with the white bread, but could have made the sandwiches better by using a speciality bread. The scones were only sweetened by the fruit that was in them. The jelly was good, but the devonshire cream was tasteless. The desserts were dry, but my vanilla tea was good. Overall it was a meh experiences.Traditional tea sandwiches are made on crustless bread, we use both wheat and white. You can always ask for a specialty bread but there would be a slight upcharge. Most of the heartier breads do not cut easily into tea sandwiches, and there is less sandwich when it is cut because of the shape of the bread. The scones do have sugar in them, golden raisins, and vanilla. English scones are not meant to be sweet because you normally put strawberry jam on them, or our homemade lemon curd is available for the Windsor without an upcharge. We do not have Devonshire clotted cream--the only way you can get that is to import it and the cost is ridiculous, or have a Devonshire cow. We make our cream to be as close as it can be to Devonshire cream, it is supposed to taste more like a butter or a very heavy cream--not overwhelming in taste like cream cheese. If your desserts were dry you should have spoken to your server, because they are not supposed to be and they would have brought out a new batch for you. It doesn't sound like you even spoke to your server by your remarks because it would have been remedied on sight if you had! If you decide to come back to have another try at the Windsor do not let it be a meh experience--if things are not right--speak up at the restaurant, ask for the manageress, or myself so I don't have to answer comments like this. Most of the time people have no idea what an English Tea is supposed to be and they compare it to fantasy items because they "think" that is how a "high tea" should be. Remember, "High Tea" began with Maria Stanhope, one of the ladies in waiting for Queen Victoria, so there are many years that have changed the definition of what "high tea" is all about. In fact, "high tea" has nothing to do with the food served--it refers to the table it is served on, which in that era was higher than a regular dining room table. Come to one of my British tea ettiquette speeches so you understand the history! Thanks for your "MEH" comments, we will take it under advisement since you did not bother to say anything while you were in the Windsor and then ridiculed us in public. The Queen Victoria sponge cake is made daily and is not pound cake, it is meant to be a little on the dry side but full of flavor with the strawberry jam and cream cheese frosting in the middle.Let me know (please reserve) and I will make sure I wait on you myself! Sonny's BBQ of Eustis. Southern BBQ at its finest. Slow-smoking favorites like pulled pork, ribs, brisket since 1968.
Service was slowâ not enough servers. Salad bar was good but refills of items were not maintainedâhad to ask waiter for potato salad and dishes to return to the salad bar for a second helping. Recent remodel is nice, main dishes were good although wait time was long.

Quaint Wine Bar serving wine, beer, appetizers, homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, and seasonal specials.
I've been here before and this time two friends who had never been decided to join me. First the place was to open at 4PM and didn't until about 10 min after 4. The owner opened and was somewhat grumpy and didn't acknowledge he was late. Then they forgot our waters and seemed to dote on their "regulars" and we had to ask for everything we needed, including refills on our wines. We did get the spinach dip with our wine and it came only warm and was just OK.It was a bad first impression for my friends.

Several shopkeepers in town mentioned this as a top-rated dining experience. We walked to it and investigated. The menu and venue looked interesting so we made reservations for later that evening. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and our server for the evening, Tony was at our side with all the relevant information about the menu specials of the day and the locally sourced items and freshly delivered sea food. The menu had a couple of vegetarian options. My wife chose the browned cauliflower steak, ras-el-hanot dusted and grilled over shallot-date coulis with cilantro-mint chermoula. Whatever all that means, it all tasted good. Our guest had the chicken roulade, pan seared chicken breast stuffed with asiago, spinach, sundried tomato, garlic & cream cheese with a Madeira beurre blanc. and said it was very good. I had a cup of Irish Whiskey onion soup, very tasty with lots of nicely caramelized sweet onion. I also had the Caesar salad, with the optional anchovies. My entree was the fish of the day, pompano. I had never had it before so I thought Iâd give it a try. It was pan seared and served with a lemon-basil beurre blanc, pickled blueberries and pea shoots. It was prepared very nicely but I was not impressed with the flavor of the fish itself. The restaurant has been around for 23 years. The décor is amazing as can be seen in the photos. Tony was an excellent server. It was truly a great dining experience.

When ordering asking for an extra corn muffin...no mention of the extra cost to let customers decide they want the added item. Automatically added . I have be a server since 1982 and NEVER done this always let customers know in advance. Probably not return because of this unprofessional business at the cost of charging $1.50 for an additional COLD corn muffin. Loosing cutomers at this cost is sad. Please let individuals being served of the additional charges.

This restaurant has been a landmark of Eustis. The outside is quite dated and the inside hasn't been updated since it opened, I think. Don't let any of that fool you, the food and service is amazing. I had the Buffalo chicken salad with a side of sweet potato tots. Both were wonderful. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. My mother goes here once a week with a group of friends, it is their favorite in town.

While spending some time in Eustis this weekend with a friend of mine, we stumbled across The Oyster Troff. It was a quaint bright little bar with ample seating at 2 bars and more seating in the back at tables. We certainly didn't expect to get the great food that we got. I'm hesitant ordering raw oysters but gave it a shot. While we waited for our oysters, we enjoyed cold beer and funny conversation from other patrons who were mostly locals. The oyster shucker (who was funny and amazingly accurate at shucking) came out and shucked the dozen oysters that we ordered right in front of us and dropped the shells right on the bar in front of us. They were HUGE and amusingly sweet and delicious! Our bartender was super friendly and never left us without a cold beer in front of us. We also decided to take a shot an appetizer that were Crab Cluster for $9. I assumed it would be a tiny cluster but when the cluster came out we were floored how large it was. It tasted amazing and for the price, it was more than worth it! It was fabulous. ( note, I lived in Alaska and have encountered some amazing crabs but these were right ay the top of the list!!) We were super happy with every thing The Oyster Troff had to offer including service, value and quality! Kuddos to you Oyster Troff!! Amazing job!We enjoyed it so much, we went back for repeats on Sunday! Duplicate! Same great food and same great service! Thanks again The Oyster Troff! You should give lessons on how to do things the right way!!! 5 stars and a big hellllll yeahhh to you!!

This is a chain with other locations in Florida, namely Clermont for one and maybe Lady Lake.
Stopped by for lunch and was surprised at the lack of customers. We had been here a few times, last year, for lunch and dinner and the place was pretty full. Wasn't sure if the lack of customers was due to food quality or what, but we decided to stay. I'm glad we did. The food was good and so was the service.Linton, thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed everything! Believe it or not we do have slow times and slow days especially in August and September. Thank you for your review we appreciate you taking the time to write it and share with others.
