Rudyâs Canât Fail Cafe opened in 2002 in Emeryville, CA with a second location in Uptown Oakland since 2011. Rudyâs was born from a desire to create a restaurant where people of all walks of life can feel welcome and eat honest food in a fun atmosphere.
The family is in town, including a 5 year old and 9 year old. Rudy's set up a long table, ready in advance, for our group. We were made to feel SO welcome. I have often gone for the burger and fries: the best! This time I had a cheese omelette (breakfast all day) and black beans, rye bread. EVERYONE found something on the menu that was delicious. The service was not only efficient, it was really wonderfully friendly. We stayed for a long time and never felt rushed. Tip: for a large group, make a reservation for the back room.

My son took me out for my Birthday and a co-worker had recommended the Fat Lady because of the eclectic decor. It was lovely. Food was fantastic and the waiter comped me a glass of wine for my B-day. My son had a steak which he said was cooked to perfection. I had the seafood pasta, which had plenty of seafood & a delightful sauce. We will be back

Apparently recently remodeled. Comfortable ambience, even when busy. Actual space between tables. There also is a parking lot across the street, a big plus in this area. Was there for breakfast. There was a great range of options. Lots of omelettes for example. My friends always have the French toast, which I tried. Delicious. Had a few more pieces! My eggs, chicken and apple sausage, cornbread also very good. Service a bit slow but not annoyingly so. Would definitely go back. Would like to try lunch.

Since its opening in 1972 overlooking the San Francisco Bay and Emeryville Marina, Trader Vic's has been hailed as one of the best restaurants in the Bay Area. Created by restaurant visionary Vic "The Trader" Bergeron, the tropical interior, exotic cockta
Small quantity for the price. Great Rum menu and many tropical drinks.Expect 1 person $60 but it does seem the norm to be expensive in the area

We loved this place but the menu was disappointing. Then we found out that they'd had a kitchen fire so weren't at full menu. But the beer was great and the vibe was very "happening" with the best that Oakland can offer....young, old, families, pets, ethnic, racial, and gender diversity. Wonderful!

Itâs a small neighborhood restaurant that is adjacent to 2 other restaurants and a great bakery....I walk by when grocery shopping or grabbing some fresh croissants and coffee...catching glimpses of the food being served....it has a Wow factor! From attentive service to tasty, well conceived food. Make no mistake, this is tavern food .....elevated to contemporary upscale plateau. The flavours are not subtle and refined....we shared the Gnocchi 1st course....soft fluffy pillows balanced with cherry tomatoes, chanterelles, crunchy vegetables and subtle heat from chiles....The Halibut entree seemed to be most popular entree of the night seeing it on many adjacent tables...seared to a golden brown yet moist and tender inside, it sat on a bed of fresh corn .....the sauces were almost too strong over powering the fish essence...a fine line. My bone in pork chop was a generous portion, well seared yet lightly pink on the inside,,,,tender and moist. The bed of beans, andouille sausage and sauce was perfectly balanced with the pork chop. The peach marscapone dessert was good, but overshadowed by the excellence of the entrees....itâs kind of a noisy restaurant with an energetic ambiance...there is a small bar counter for single diners....good wine list. Service was A+

My adult daughters & I had dinner here on a Saturday night. It was loud & crowded, but the staff was friendly & worked hard to keep the food & drinks coming. We ordered the Not Mac & Cheese (very good, you would not have guessed it was butternut squash), burrata (deeelish!), carpaccio (very fresh), beet salad (goat cheese was perfect), & mussels (broth was garlic heaven). The place has an eclectic, funky vibe somewhere between a disco & an art exhibit. It was a little too loud for normal conversation, but fun.

Today, our incredible team serves up over 5,000 macs each week; weâve got thirteen different varieties of mac available on any given day, as well as local beer and wine pairings, and homemade desserts like oreos and peanut butter pie. We now have Homeroom
I've been coming here for years to both the restaurant and their to-go location. Be aware- the restaurant is always packed with a long wait because it's that good! It's pretty consistent and I love their Gilroy Garlic Mac. Their buffalo chicken is also great. Definitely recommend!

From the Emeryville fireman's dream of a Speakeasy that he built in 1926, to Steve Vernetti, the original Townhouse Speakeasy bartender who along with his family ran it for 35 plus years after Prohibition ended, the TH has been and remains an East Bay ins
Wanted a comfortable spot to talk to a friend coming through town briefly; made a reservation easily online. Service was excellent and we talked and ate slowly without feeling rushed by wait person. Food is fine though not memorable. Nice drink selection. Attractive interior. Good location. Restaurant offers valet parking in area where on-street-parking is generally filled.
