The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is relaxing. You get wonderful, cheerful, funny service from everyone. Everything is cooked to order and tastes great. Been here a few times and will always come back. Even if you donât like seafood they have other options for you. The owners are as nice as can be. The prices are great for good seafood. I would recommend this place to everyone.

First evening in Edenton. Needed a light meal. Pub Grub sounded like just the solution. Not much open downtown Historic area. First impression, typical sports bar. Many screens each with a different event (including Monday Night Football). Decided to try the pizza and draft beer. Good choice and the veggie pizza was loaded with good stuff.Got to watch National Chain Sawing competition ( no lie) on screen closest to our table. Donât do burgers, but they looked good going to other tables.Jeanne & Gil & MarilynnThe Grey Gourmets

Passed through Edenton recently near lunchtime and asked a local where they went for a good sandwich. They recommended Westover general store. It's in an older gas station so not much ambiance but the best Reuben I have ever had. Corned beef was so tender and flavorful. Friendly and fast service.

We went to Edenton Bay Oyster Bar on the recommendation of friends that live about 30 minutes away. We were later on a Friday night and called ahead for a reservation just-in-case. Menu isn't extensive but, to me, that's a plus. Sometimes menus are so extensive, you can't make up your mind. In addition to the menu, there were four specials told to us, all that sounded good. Was a little chilly in there but server moved us to another table which made it more enjoyable. Food was great and plentiful. My husband and I would definitely go again.

For the money they charge, the buffet is terrible... Not a great place to eat.. The crabcakes seemed to have been reheated several times.. Fish was very dry.. Staff was friendly, until I said the food wasn't good. They laughed and made me pay anyway..

Visited this restaurant with our son and his family while on vacation at Scotch Hall Golf Resort. Was first impressed with the building. Three stories with top floor being a home that was built around 1900 and bottom story the restaurant. Beautiful view across the sound. Rather brief menu but did contain the most often ordered entrées. My wife and I shared the Captain's Platter which contained oysters on half shell; large fried oysters, shrimp, scallops, and flounder; and generous portion of steamed crab along with fries and slaw. Contained more food than we could eat. Delicious but not exceptional. Pretty meal muffins were very delicious. A little out of the way but the food, view, and experience was worth it. Thank you for taking time to write your Trip Advisor review on your dining experience at The 51 House. I am proud to see that you found the food delicious and you enjoyed the waterfront views.Look forward to seeing you again on your next visit to Scotch Hall Golf Resort!Best regards,Rose

After eating our fill of seafood while vacationing in the mid-Atlantic area and wanting a simple tasty meal, Nothing Fancy was perfect for us. My husband had beef vegetable soup and I had a grilled cheese sandwich, all just delicious. Friendly service and reasonable prices too. So glad the desk clerk at our hotel recommended Nothing Fancy!

I stopped in while passing through town. The staff greeted me when I walked in and I took a spot at the counter. I couldnât decide from the many options on the menu and finally settled on the Ruben. Good service, good sandwich, good value, and good atmosphere. What more can you ask for. Would I stop in again if passing through? YEP!

Owners - Katy and Rick Ebersole and Brian Roberts; been in operation since 1996.
We had a late dinner at this restaurant as one of the recommendations of the hotel we visited. It is located near the waterfront and was nicely decorated. It seemed to be family run. We dined upstairs. The waitress was nice and accommodating offering suggestions for drinks. Unfortunately the specials although written outside and on a board downstairs were not repeated or offered. The fried shirmp dinner was tasty with large butterfly shrimp. The seafood pasta however was on the dry side. Each dish was plentiful however. Overall, I thought the cost was pricey.

We both chose the special on the night we went and it was a type of white fish. The sides and sauces were delicious. We had been recommended there by a local and I'm glad we listened.
