Things to do in Drummond Island
We stayed a couple of nights here on our visit to the island. The resort fell short in some areas. The only list you saw of the amenities included was on the form you signed on check in. Nothing to refer to in the room. Only restaurant open was the bar/gaming one. Glad we only went for lunch, the food was good but certainly not the right atmosphere for a relaxing dinner. They said the pool was heated. Maybe in Iceland it would be considered heated. We went down to the beach(?) and also checked out the chapel used for weddings. It needs some serious renovations. There is some potential for greatness here if it were cared for. We kept thinking," Tom Monahan would have never put up with this".

The view and lodge are wonderful but that's where it ends ....The menu reads very upscale and delicious but the food is not. It is average at best and at least fifty percent overpriced. Though it is the only " fine dining" restaurant on the island it isn't all that fine of dining.

Trailhead offers casual lake side dining at an affordable price. Daily food and drink specials. Free Wi-Fi and billiards. Serving great burgers, hand cut steaks, and so much more including fresh whitefish caught off the shores of Drummond Island by Barbea
The whitefish is worth the trip. The place is a big open bar with an emphasis on burgers and fish. The whitefish is locally caught and well prepared. Onion rings cost more, but are a good option. Go for the coleslaw, which is stellar. The atmosphere is cavernous and a bit cheesy.

I would have rated them excellent except for extremely slow service. We had dinner the first night and breakfast the next morning. Both meals were delicious. I mean really good but it was very slow. The wait staff were young people, I believe from eastern Europe. After both meals we had to request our check. Maybe that's customary where they were from.

Our legendary fresh whitefish, Angus beef burgers and homemade desserts have made us an Eastern U.P. landmark. Our rustic decor provides a comfortable and casual atmosphere that enhances our great service, high quality food and our generous portion sizes.
Good location across from the ice cream shop. Menu not geared toward vegetarians but my food was good. Large group of us were there and most everyone liked their food except those getting the prime rib. Good bar and service was good- they were busy as well. A bit pricey.
