We were so excited to try this place after we heard that the sweet sentiment behind the name. But we were really disappointed in the food and the presentation. 2 of us had the shrimp and scallops combo which was tasteless. The sweet potato looked and tasted like it had been pre baked, frozen and reheated in the microwave. The server was sweet. But it did not make up for the lousy food.More like diner food at fine food prices.

My husband and I visited this establishment last evening for dinner and some brews. We really enjoyed ourselves! There was a nice assortment of beer selections, and all were distinctive and good. The food is your basic pub food - above average and will satisfy your hunger, though probably not the drawing force for visiting, but combined with the beer you'll have a good experience. The place is small, but there's a nice outside patio to sit out on - the warmer weather made the patio the place to be when we were there! There appeared to only be two people running the show, but both were very capable, friendly and efficient. We have no complaints! We'll definitely be back.

For the past 50 years, we've provided our guests with a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere, hand-cut aged steaks, fresh seafood and some traditional German favorites. We offer a seasonally changing menu with an emphasis on locally produced and organicall
My husband and I recently moved to the area, and decided to go here for dinner during the heatwave we were experiencing. We walked in the lobby and enjoyed the decor, complete with a phone booth. The restaurant was not busy, yet we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. We were seated in a small room which didn't seem to have air conditioning. Nobody came to our table after we were seated. The room was getting stuffier by the minute and we were both sweating, yet no waitress came for our drink orders. After waiting for 10 minutes, we both decided it was too hot inside and since we seemed to have been forgotten, we left. We have no plans on returning.

This is a really nice restaurant. The drinks are excellent and the service is top notch. The servers know what they are offering and have great suggestions when asked. Great place to go for a good meal.

My husband and I had a coupon for Union Barrel Works, so we checked it out. He started with the Mussels appetizer and I had the crab cheese cake appetizer with grilled flat bread. My husband had around 12 mussels that were not open. He told the waitress. The kitchen made him another entire pound of them. That batch only had 1 unopened. He said they were very good. The crab cheesecake was very good also, very cheesy and had a smoky taste. My husband had the black and blue steak tips, they came with soup or salad and 2 vegetables. That's alot of food! He said they were very good. I had the shrimp and crab Alfredo. It had whole pieces of crab meat from the crab legs and large shrimp. It had a creamy cheese sauce and spinach leaves. Very tasty. I ended up having it 2 more times for lunch. Large portions and great food. You don't find that very often. I almost forgot my husband loved the beer so much he took 4 six-packs home. We will definitely return.

I am surprised at negative reviews. Steak is not quite the quality of fine steakhouses (try Willoughby's in Wyomissing for that) but prices are quite reasonable for steak with two sides, one of which can be a large salad. Martinis are huge and good. Atmosphere is not fancy but comfortable.

We were in the area visiting with family over Mother's Day weekend. We wanted to take the family out and based on TA reviews we decided on the Olde Lincoln House. Not being familiar with this restaurant, my husband and I stopped in the night prior to the family dinner to check it out. We sat at the bar and could tell immediately that this was a local favorite. Many of the customers were known to each other and/or the staff. Sometimes you find yourself not necessarily feeling welcomed as an outsider in a local place - but this was not the case here. Everyone including other customers were warm and engaging. This first night we had a couple of drinks, and split a crab dip appetizer and a french dip sandwich. The food was very good and we were looking forward to the dinner with family the next evening. On the night of our family dinner there were 10 of us - ages 3 to 90. We had a large table on the ground floor. The menu has a great variety of choices - from tavern/pub fare to prime rib entrees. We all shared half a dozen appetizers and everyone found a main entree to their liking. The portions were ample and folks found themselves taking home portions they could not finish. The staff was great. The servers (sorry I orgot to note their names) were spot on - attentive, quick without being pushy, pleasant and responsive to our needs. We would definitely recommend. No one from our group had been here previously and I have heard from a couple that are local (New Holland area) that they will certainly be going back. Thank you Olde Lincoln House - you helped make our visit a memorable one!

Here on a business trip. Ordered the shrimp as an appetizer, pretty sure it was frozen, then thawed, if so, it was better then some. Ordered the mahi mahi, it was a little over cooked, but the taste was good. Also ordered the sauteed mushrooms, the should have been cooked just slightly longer to remove more of the.... Alcohol taste. Overall, it was an ok meal, and perfect for something quick. Possibly will be back

We were camping and woke up Monday morning to a deluge...piled in the car in search of a dry breakfast. Parking lot was full, however it is spacious and we did not have to wait. Prompt service with our drinks and orders. Food delivered promptly and hot. But typical diner breakfast. My husband ordered sausages hoping for a local taste but they were just typical links--nothing special. Breads limited to the basic three--white rye and wheat. I had a western omelet with homefries...again nothing special. They only creative options on the menu were build your own omelettes and a variety of pancakes...banana, chocolate chip, etc Prices were reasonable.
