We were traveling through Danville and stumbled upon Biscuitville. The quality of the biscuits are excellent. I'm not a huge fan of southern biscuits, they are usually too salty, but these were perfect. Plus -- Biscuitville is the best name for a restaurant, ever.

Have eaten at a lot of seafood restaurants over the years in a lot of places, but the Mayflower in Danville, Va. is on of my favorites. The food is always good, and the service pleasant and efficient. I go about every two weeks, and it never disappoints. I do wish they would get sweet potatoes though.

Great food at very reasonable prices! Must haves are omelettes and rye toast. Recently re-located to a bigger building - and they still have a wait on the weekends! Something for everyone- including a nice buffet. They do great job of keeping the trays full of hot items. Waitresses and hostess are very nice and made us feel welcome. Highly recommended.

I thoroughly read reviews as we were passing through town and wanted to sit down for dinner. Some reviews good. Some reviews not so good. Parking lot was full. We were seated quickly. The restaurant appears to be a refurbished Ponderosa, very pretty on the inside. Warm wood and stone. Salad bar was well stocked with 15-20 fresh items...even sardines. Itâs $2.99 extra...not a bad deal. My sirloin was unbelievably tender. Wood fired perfectly! My husbands filet and my sonâs burger were also awesome. We were very pleased with our meal and service! Thank you!

Been here a handful of times and the food/service continues to be excellent. Thank goodness for their small plates. Tasty cocktails - recommends the Ginger and Juice martini and the Danville drink.Crab fritters - delicious. Shrimp and grits, fish tacos - just right. Dessert: lemon cake, mousse, cheesecake very nice. Food was fresh, light and not too much.Friendly service, prompt, timely. Come early, leave early. Another one in the bag for 616.

While traveling through the area, my wife and I stopped here for lunch. We both enjoyed their barbecued pork plate with fries, baked beans and hushpuppies. The food came to the table quickly, and it was fresh-tasting, hot and delicious. The portions were great and the prices reasonable. Should we be in the area again, we will definitely stop by Checkered Pig for a good meal. Highly recommend!!Thank you for your stellar review - we're so glad you love our food! My daughter & son-in-law and wife treated me to a birthday lunch here, enjoyed the event and the company, but the meal was disappointing. First, I found the menu limited as to entrees other than the usual burgers and sandwiches, which wasn't what I had in mind. I ordered the "Crispy Chicken" - expecting fried chicken, but, alas, it was rosted chicken and wasn't even crispy because it was slathered with a brown gravy. The seasoning of the meat was good. I switched out the potato salad with arugula for the cheesy grits. The grits were cheesy but only luke warm when then were served. Everyone else in our party was apparently pleased with their orders.Hi Michael, thanks for letting us know your party had a wonderful time while here. However, we are sorry to hear you weren't fully impressed with your own meal. We are disappointed to hear it but hope you will give us another shot to keep working your way through our menu to find a dish you jusât love. Thanks for sharing your feedback with us!

What a magnificent dining experience, unlike anything I believe I've ever reviewed before. I was in Danville VA for a friend's wedding. Wanting to find a great place to eat dinner, I typed in "favorite restaurants in Danville, VA," into TripAdvisor and Me's Burgers and Brews popped up. It was more than wonderful; it was perfect! I got there around 5PM on a Saturday and there might have been 3 people at the bar and four tables occupied. I ordered my favorite beer, Yuengling Amber Lager, and a "make your own" burger (bacon, cheese, onion slice, lettuce, and tomato, with mayo and mustard). The burger was perfectly prepared and wonderfully tasty, but it was the seasoned French Fries that stole the show - best I've ever had (I'm 73!). But it was the conversations that sprang up independently with Abby, the plank-owner bartender; Christine, the teacher from Norfolk, VA, visiting with her family, and John, the electrical engineer who'd only recently moved to Danville following his wife's careen change. We talked as though we known each other all our lives. It was the whole deal and I hope I can find a reason again in my life to return to this fantastic and fulfilling experience. The folks of Danville have an amazing treasure in Me's burgers and brews.Paul, we were thrilled to read your review, not just for the five rating but for the experience that you had in our little place. To us, this is exactly what we want to happen-good food and conversation with new people or with the people you are dining with. It has been amazing to us the friendships that have been formed within our restaurant and the friendships that we ourselves have formed with customers. First time. Will try again, lots of goodness in this spot. Service was top shelf, all great. Calamari app was great. I had lobster tomato bisque that absolutely had the potential to be heavenly... But it was not hot..... Sent it back, came lukewarm.... Too bad.... Let me tell you that bisque had potential. My steak was great... Perfect rare. Wife had salmon over a bed of risotto.... The salmon was sooo perfectly cooked... Moist, tasty... But the risotto was bland. My fried Brussels sprouts were hot and awesome. So overall, for $90, this came off under. But we will be back because as you can see in my glowing reviews of some of the items... There was so potential.
