Home of The Original Golden Tendersâ¢, Golden Chick is a fast food restaurant chain offering Golden Fried or Roast Chicken, Fried Catfish, Sandwiches, Fresh Salads, Yeast Rolls and a variety of Sides.
Inside a convenience/gas station. This shop has an unusual method of ordering sandwiches. By the way, any sandwich can be converted into a nice salad if desired. First you determine which one you want from menu board, second you find the correct menu card and indicate exactly what type of (e.g.) chicken sandwich, cheeses, bread, sauces, etc you desire. Then give the order to clerk. Confusing for first timer but assistance was provided and system works well.

My wife and I stopped in for supper on our way to Colorado. This place is almost impossible to find at night because there are no lit signs. When you get in, itâs a big place with friendly staff. They have a salad bar that is not great. The ranch or âhouse dressingâ is a terrible version of ranch. The âbutterâ was vegetable oil spread. It feels like a school cafeteria. The dinner rolls look and taste like day old bread from the local grocery store. My wife asked if the medium steak was pink or red. Waiter indicated the center was pink. We both ordered medium and our steaks were so bloody our potatoes turned bloody. If the cooks arenât sure on steak temperature preparation, they should use a thermometer. Itâs just not good food. Most people can make better at home. They can make some real improvements here that would make a huge difference in each meal they serve and maybe their revenue. This is the second time we ate here - both times disappointed. Definitely not going back for a third.

Point your vehicle west and travel 1.3 miles to the golf course. Turn right, cross the railroad tracks and enter a surprise venue. We walked in approximately 20-minutes from closing but the wait staff took our order and prepared our meal just like it was the first order of the day! The hamburgers were steaming when they arrived. Big screen TV allowed us to watch the Dallas Cowboys.

We checked TA to find a BBQ place as we were traveling across the country. This one lives up to itâs high rating. The brisket that we ordered was very tender and flavorful. There was a very large amount of food given for each dinner. The waitress was very friendly and prompt. The service was great. The decor is eclectic, old west, style metal silhouettes, wooden quotes and pictures. A very cozy place. The price is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

The Grill is recently under new owners and management. We are a small diner that offers dine in or carry out. We have breakfast, burgers, shakes, and more!
I got the 2x2x2 which was eggs, bacon and pancakes. Very good and the pancakes were large! Breakfast is supposed to end at 10:30 am but they appeared to allow people to order it late.

Of course, calling a restaurant "Best place to eat in Dalhart" could be called damning with faint praise. However, the food at this steakhouse/barbecue joint is quite good. Not fine "continental cuisine," but tasty just the same. A range of meats from beef, pork, poultry and fish. No real vegetarian options unless you don't put meat on the salads. The interior is rustic, but nicely decorated. The staff are friendly and efficient. The prices aren't cheap but not outrageously expensive.
