Reviews on American food in Corolla, North Carolina, United States. You won’t find superstores or theme parks in Corolla. What you will find is a slow-paced vacation destination with vast, isolated stretches of beach. Corolla is the perfect place to gear down, relax and forget about your hurried life back home. While quiet dinners and strolls on the beach are mainstays of Corolla’s lifestyle, other more action-oriented recreation options include kayak tours, Jet Ski rentals, deep-sea fishing charters, and go-karting. No visit to Corolla is complete without climbing the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, a 158-foot high structure built in 1875 that still flashes at 20-second intervals to warn ships hugging the chain of barrier islands. Next on the must see list is the Whalehead Club, a 21,000-square-foot Art Nouveau home that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
A truly unique experience in Corolla is taking a tour of the Spanish Mustang Reserve, where you can see wild Spanish Mustang horses grazing in their natural habitat. Horse lovers will also enjoy the Corolla Wild Horse Museum located within the restored schoolhouse of Corolla Village. Kids have an opportunity to paint their own wild Colonial Spanish Mustang.
For some great family fun, play the Grass Course, a miniature golf course on all natural grass.

Every where else was full, we new it was a bit more expensive, and they didn't dissapoint. Wonderful service (Johnny) fantastic food (mixed grill, filet, salmon and crabcake) all fantastic! A must do in Corolla, especially for a better night out. Super fun music at the outdoor bar afterwards as well.

Super casual restaurant with friendly , family atmosphere. Serving slow cooked BBQ and fresh seafood daily / Open early March til late October
Placed was clean. Service was very good. Mid September visit and no crowd. Raw oysters were great. Steamed seafood platter was ok. The mussels, clams, and oyster were a bit over done. The scallops were very good. Potato salad was ok as were the beans. The shrimp & scallop dinner had both cooked correctly and again the scallops were great. The collards had too much vinegar and pepper along with not being cooked long enough. Mac & cheese was ok. Two major issues were both the cocktail sauce & tarter sauce had been Food Networked (*That's changing conventional food items so they taste horrible) by adding unconventional undetermined items. The cocktail sauce had a bunch of hot sauce in it to the point you couldn't taste the horseradish which made it inedible. The tarter sauce had undetermined additives that made it inedible. Bring your own condiments.*Note this review was completed without using ridiculious undiscriptive terms like OMG, awesome, yummy, delish, to die for, do your self a favor, trust me, etc.. Describe the food, service (or lack of) and provide details on the cost/copy of check and include pictures! Is the place clean? No one cares about the waiter/waitress names or their abilities. They get changed like underwear and you don't get to pick one. We don't care about your allergies or the need for gluten free food.

Portions were huge and food was delicious. We tried to stop on Saturday but the wait was tremendous. We went again on Tuesday morning and were seated immediately. Fun, friendly waitstaff. Good food.

I have been coming to OBX for years and this was my first visit. With the name, I thought the place would be a more stuffy type of martini bar, but I was wrong. They have a great assortment of beers and other type of drinks. The food was excellent and served fresh out of the kitchen so it is hot and fresh when itâs served. I will certainly be back. Sorry I waited so long to visit.

Nothing feels better than supporting a small business run by genuinely good people. Even better when their products are outstanding. The fam and I visited corolla and LOVED grabbing coffee and breakfast here nearly every morning. The açaà bowls are truly out of this world. Not ice-y just smooth and very very fresh!! The espresso smoothie is also amazing - doesnât feel heavy just very very refreshing. And just when you thought they couldnât out-do their breakfast wait till you have their lunch which is PERFECT for grabbing for the beach. I had the chicken salad which is EXCELLENT (gotta like relish though because they put that in it) and everyone else in my family got all different things and each one loved there sandwich or wrap. We loved this place!!

Most important aspect of a restaurant- delicious hot food! Everyone loved their food and cocktails. Seafood nachos were a generous serving and not soggy. The chicken fried chicken was moist, as was my chicken sandwich. My husband raved about his seafood platter. The atmosphere is extremely casual with picnic style tables. Our server was excellent.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch yesterday after 4 wheeling on the beautiful North the beaches of Corolla. We were greeted and seated immediately And a very pleasant waitress came to take our drink order right away. My husband had the Painkiller and I had the hairy Brazilian. The Painkiller was perfect And my hairy Brazilian was delicious. Spicy and not overly sweet. We ordered tuna bytes and a dozen local oyster raw, and My husband had the fish-and-chips and I had the yellowfin tuna plate. The tuna was super fresh and tender and perfectly cooked and perfect with the wasabi sauce. The sticky white the rice that came with it was awesome. My husband's fish-and-chips came out hot but to be honest the fries were bland and and a little undercooked. Everything else was delicious though I would return for that tuna dish and the Hairy Brazilian

We felt very fortunate to find this cozy restaurant during our recent visit to Corolla. Once we stepped inside, smelled the food, and saw some of the plates, we knew it would be worth waiting for a table. While all of the food (and drinks) were good, the "snacks" (pork shanks with blue cheese slaw, crispy catfish) and salad (beets and honey crisp apples) we ordered to share were especially unique and delicious. We were also thrilled that there was a kids menu (chicken tenders or quesadilla) for our 5 year old to order from. We all left completely stuffed because we did not want to miss out on trying anything.

Outer Banks Boil Company is a family owned and operated business specializing in Traditional Coastal Shrimp Boils.
This is the 4th year we have used Outer Banks Boil Company and every year we are never disappointed! Matt the owner is the coolest guy and all his staff is amazing! We have a blast every time they come to us and we even make sure we stop by the store In Timbuktu to say goodbye when we leave. Itâs more like a big family party when they come than it is a catering company coming to you. We love you guys and weâll be back next year!!!!
