We decided to stop here for dinner because it looked so interesting. The food is very good and service was surprisingly quick. My daughter and my grandson said the cheeseburgers were fantastic, however she did not like the french fries. They have a small salad bar with hot and cold foods, but each is a separate charge; if you want the hot food bar it costs more than just the salad bar. The prices here are very, very reasonable, and much less than we'd see at home near Pittsburgh, The staff was very friendly too. Outside the restaurant is an adventure. There are two putt-putt courses, a petting zoo, a gift shop, a bakery, ice cream stand, and a barn housing handmade furniture and gift items. There is also a very large animal pen comprised of several adjoining, very large pastures. For a quarter you get a handful of corn kernels so you can feed the pygmy goats, billy goats, and a calf. The pygmy goats were adorable. Also in an adjoining pasture there are three bulls. I'm not sure what kind but the horns on the brown one were huge! We had a blast eating good food and feeding and petting the animals. I highly recommend stopping here, especially if you have children!

Stopped by w my family for dinner at the recommendation of the Pa great outdoors visitors bureau. We sat in the new porch/deck that opened the day before. Itâs really a perfect set up for dinner. The menu had a little something for everyone, even two picky eaters. The owner waited on us ( itâs a family affair w a couple generations working ). The kids had pasta and Mac n cheese, and the owner made sure they had enough to eat! The adults had pizza, turkey rachel, and lasagne, and all were terrific. For desert we split two slices of tollhouse pie- maybe the best pie Iâve had in years. The #nook is well worth a stop and we will be stopping again.

Although our waitress was friendly and energetic, service was erratic with things arriving at all different times and all our food was pretty mediocre. Our pizza was under done with a limp crust and the cheese barely melted and my daughter's French onion soup came out as thick as gravy. French fries were greatThanks for letting us know about your experience at the Iron Mountain Grille, Kathryn. We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations and live up to our own high standards. We have eaten here many times over the years during our trips to Cook Forest State Park. We absolutely love the atmosphere. It's right next to the Pale Whale Canoe rental and within sight of the beautiful Clarion river. It's a pleasure to choose a table and spend some time just enjoying the beautiful weather and summer fun going on around you. The ice cream selection is huge, usually between 2 and 3 dozen flavors, and it's absolutely delicious, easily the best we've ever had. Every flavor we've tried has been amazing. Summer after summer, we've found that the staff is generally unfriendly, and often rude. You're lucky if they even look at you or say a word while they take your order or give you your food, and they seem like they genuinely can't stand working there. The food takes forever to prepare, even during the fall when there are usually few customers, so be prepared to wait. The quality of the food is average at best. Not disgusting by any means, but also not something you'll remember or be excited to eat again. There's tons of seating available on both sides of the cafe, including some covered seating. There is a lot of parking around, but it can be hard to find a spot during the summer. So in short, I really love this place for it's great atmosphere and amazing ice cream, but there's a lot of room for the food and service to improve. Despite that, it's still a place we'll return to again and again.

We have not stayed here yet but plan too. The Lodge is just breathtaking. There is a beautiful screened porch to sit out on and gaze into the woods. They serve "tea" and cookies in the afternoon. The rooms were amazing. Can't wait to come back and STAY

We always stop here a few times a year when visiting our camp. My husband really likes the wings and I enjoy the club sandwich and cole slaw. That's what we had today. Although the food was really good (as usual), our service wasn't that great today. We had a different waitress this time that seemed distracted or too overwhelmed (although it wasn't very busy yet). She never checked back after giving us our food until we were ready to leave.Karen, I am sorry your service was not up to par, we have had some staff changes this year. We will be working on that in the hopes that your next visit will live up to the expectations you have for our restaurant. Come back again... ! Susie
