We ate here Saturday at approx. 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday. I ordered the blackened chicken, with cole slaw and fried apples and cornbread with water. Everyone else ordered the Saturday special: Pork tenderloin with two sides. My meal was very good and no one else complained about anything. My meal was $8.99 and the two specials were $7.99 each. Amanda was our waitress and she did good job of taking care of us. Will eat here again when back in Columbia.

Black Stallion Steakhouse

While Columbia really needs a good restaurant, this isn't it. There was great excitement when the Black Stallion opened but it hasn't lived up to it's hype. Our last dinner there and today's lunch were typical disappointments -- so-so food with service that started out with enthusiastic attention from a waitress who then..........disappeared. We've not yet had a memorable meal at the Black Stallion, but have gone back because, well, we REALLY want a good restaurant in Columbia.

4. Hardscratch Country Store

Hardscratch Country Store is located in the small country community of Glen’s Fork about 5 miles south of Columbia KY on Rt 55. It is not so much of a store but a fine country local restaurant. Upon entering one only notices two tables, but around the wall are a half dozen more. While Hardscratch serves the full complement of local cuisines (including fried bologna sandwich, it is best known for its catfish dinners on the second and fourth Fridays each month. The catfish is prepared the old fashion method -deep fried and very crispy. If you long for fish that is done properly, you will not be disappointed. If you plan on eating catfish, come early as they will sell out by 7PM
