The Hidden Manna cafe is family owned and operated. We feature Creole & American comfort foods. We only serve the freshest fare at reasonable prices. Stop by and check out our imported coffees and teas.
The place is located in a historic looking house. The setup is not over crowded. The staff is so polite and helpful. They expalin menu and asked if we liked mild or spicy dishes. The menu has a nice variety. A couple of us had the shrimp and grits. A very generous portion. I had to take home half. One person had the short ribs which they loved. The dessert carmel cake a slice was huge. The chicken and waffles what can I say. YUMMY!!!

We went on Sunday around 4pm; late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant was busy but not full. We were seated on the bar side of the restaurant and there were plenty of tables available there. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. This was my first visit to Glenwood Oaks Rib & Chop House. A friend local to the area took me there. The fresh bread was warm and good. The lobster bisque was flavorful. I prefer lobster bisque that at least has some noticeable chunks or bits in it. This did not but it didn't detract from the meal. The ribs were delicious and the highlight of my meal. And the potatoes served in a small bowl (think a large scoop of ice cream) were good. Standard beer selections with a couple of crafts available. Our server left much to be desired. She seemed very impatient and put out. My friend and I hadn't seen each other for over a year and it was to be a relaxing meal to catch up. Minutes after being seated the waitress introduced herself and asked about drinks. When I asked about craft beer options her tone came off as irritable. She handed me a beer card from her server wallet and walked away to get my friend's Coke. Upon her return I ordered my beer selection. When she returned with that she asked if we were ready to place the food order. I explained that this would be a slow mean since two old friends were catching up. Again I felt this somehow annoyed her. I made sure to have my dinner selected minutes later upon her return as I didn't want to risk exasperating her any further. Maybe she was working both rooms. I'm unsure. But on our side it wasn't so busy. I enjoyed the food but for the cost, I feel service could definitely have been better.

The folks at the Egg and I are always pleasant, friendly, speedy and thoughtful. We find it is a great place to meet out-of-town friends and reminisce.

Wait staff are knowledgeable of menu items. I've eaten in and have called in take-out orders, both experiences I have nothing to complain about. Can't wait for warmer weather to be able to sit outside on patio. Love this place.

I am sorry but I have been to enough Deli's to say this was not brisket. If it was brisket, very poor quality. Lots of fat and the cut was not correct. Chips had no flavor. Pickle tasted terrible. Very odd taste. Not fresh, that is for sure. Service was OK. Cost a bit high for such a small sandwich. Not impressed...

This is what a diner should be! I had breakfast this morning and it was excellent. Waffles, hash browns, bacon and some really good coffee! Just what I needed after a long weekend in Chicago! The entire staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. Stop by Raspberry's. You won't regret it!

Big Apple has been a fixture in Chicago Heights for a long time. Family run and now with a few other locations have become the area's Breakfast and lunch go-to. A large Menu for all of your breakfast needs. I had the Denver Omelet and Hash browns. Large portions are common here and be prepared to take a bag home. Wait staff is nice and most have worked a long time at this location. Closed a 3 pm.
