Met friends for dinner. Restaurant was not very busy. Waitress took our beverage order. My friend and I ordered coffee. She brought it out and it barely room temperature and stale. We werenât upset. Just asked for a fresh cup. Sometimes it just happens that burner gets turned off or a pot left on too long. When I placed my order I ordered a salad as one of my sides. Waitress said it was a extra 50 cents. Ok, no problem with that. Our food came out and she brought coffee too. No salad. I reminded her I had ordered a salad and I didnât get it. She then tells me because it was a side Iâd get it with my meal not before. WTH! Really? What decent restaurant does that. Anyway I said I donât like eating my salad after my hot food has been served. Sheâs says âItâs not my fault. Itâs the company policy.â Well I eat at Bob Evans a lot and Iâve always had my salad served before my main entree. Then she gives me a dish of coleslaw that was on the tray (why was it?). I told her I donât eat coleslaw. She still pushes the coleslaw over to me and starts to leave. I told her again I donât eat coleslaw. She says well my salad would be out soon. I told her I no longer wanted a salad but I would take carrots instead. She was a little huffy, but say ok. She finally came back with coffee which was cold again. We told her it was still cold and we wouldnât mind if she just used a microwave to heat it. Her excuse was the machine was broken. You think sheâd would said that when we ordered the coffee! It took a while but we finally got our coffee. Needless to say she didnât come back to ask if we needed refills. My friend said heâd never come back but Iâve eaten at this location many times without an issue so Iâll give them the benefit of the doubt and go back. But, it had better not be a repeat of this night.
My family has been dining at this location for many years through different owners, name changes, and menu revisions. I think that the new menu and updates are a winning combination returning to its tavern roots. The food is delicious and served piping hot, and the prices are reasonable. Try the macaroni and cheese, and you will not be disappointed. They will take reservations for the inside, but it is first come first served for the patio. The staff is also friendly and professional.

We went through the drive thru to bring home dinner. The drive through attendant was friendly. Our food came out quickly and our order was correct. We didn't go inside for this trip.

Went for breakfast on a Saturday morning closer to noon. Crowded but got right in. Very cool interior filled with 1950s gear and motif. Had the Elvis omlette.....potatoes were the best......the omlette was OK.....nothing that would make Elvis stop in for one. the taco wrap was good as well. We ordered decaf and had to wait while they brewed a pot and then the refills were pretty slow. Others have said not to go here if you are in a hurry, and that seems correct. Good food, nice interior, prices a bit high for what you get. A good stop in South Chardon that would have a hard time competing with a Yours Truly in a Mentor setting.

We had quick service. Food was delivered quickly. Food was as expected. Our server was great! I would recommend stopping here for a bite if you are in for bar food.
Our first time here for a late lunch. Nicely decorated with a casual/upscale atmosphere accommodating about 60 guests and celebrating their first anniversary. Chef presents a new take on some standard menu items. My wife chose the special, a wonderfully prepared Chicken Sandwich on multigrain bread ($9.95) accompanied by a side of delicious sweet potato fries ($2.00). I selected the BL(FG)T ($10.00) which was a bacon/lettuce/tomato with a twist...served with fried green tomato and red leaf lettuce and topped with a very tasty mayo. It was accompanied with a nice side salad of spring greens. Needless to say it was also delicious. Sandwiches were large with my wife bring home half to enjoy the next day. Service by Denica was exceptional and needs to be commended. Needless to say we will return for dinner in the very near future.

We had driven past this place a million times and never thought of stopping because from the outside it looks like a local joint. But, our friends live in Chesterland and often talked about how good the food was at Maple City, so we decided to meet them for dinner on a Saturday night and give this place a try. This place was mobbed!!!! I mean really, really mobbed. We thought we'd get there early to grab a table before our friends arrived at 6:00 pm, but found out that 5:30 was stil too late since there was no table or seats at the bar available. We ordered a couple of beers and stood watching for a table to open up. After about 20 minutes a couple left and we were able to be seated while we waited for our friends. The servers here are awesome! I don't know how they manage these crowds, but they do. They hustle! We got an assortment of food including burgers, pizza, ribs. Honestly, all of it was really good! It took a fair amount of time to get our food, but it was worth the wait.I would definitely go back for another meal. I would not go on a Saturday night just because of the crowd and noise, and the difficulty of getting a table. Overall it's a solid choice in Chardon. Not fancy by any means, but worth a visit for a nice selection of food.

Food is really good. I really appreciate the diversity of the menu, between pizza, entrees, great salads and even plenty of gluten free options. Service is prompt and friendly. Atmosphere is comfortable and clean! Plenty of seating even on busy weekends.

Dependable high quality food, drink and service. I've been dining at Bass Lake for over 15 years and have never been disappointed. Their open patio in the summer offers a delightful dining experience. If in town, you must visit!

I stopped in for lunch. It is a very cute and comfortable interior. They have a large beer selection. I had a prime rib sandwich and it was perfectly cooked. The meat was tender and had plenty of cheese. The wait staff was attentive. It was a great place that Iâll come back to.
